Central Plaza Hotel - My Tho

Absolutely new hotel, not even all floors are working yet. Everything is new, just put into operation. Stunning views of the Mekong, panoramic glazing and a great balcony. Opposite the pier - excursions from 500,000 -700,000vnd for two to the island (relict coconuts, canals, fruit farm). The restaurant cooks well, really tasty, beef dishes are excellent. Everything is fresh. The room has an interesting design, but not functional. Beautiful, but not thought out. The air conditioner is located in such a way that it blows directly into the bed and you can't redirect the flow, the heat / cold adjustment does not work in my opinion, the numbers on the display change, but it does not get warmer. - whether you set it to 22 degrees or 26 - there is no difference. There is no work space - nowhere to put a laptop, tablet, charging station. - we charged on the floor. The ventilation in the bathroom is very noisy (it turns off with the light, please replace the fan with a quieter one). And it would be great if there were umbrellas in the room, they would come in handy in rainy weather. The girls at the reception on the 7th floor are inexperienced and do not have enough information, they do not know anything about the city, please put adult employees with experience there. The guys at the reception on the 1st floor work great, they do a good job. From the suggestions - more often wash the windows from the outside, they are dusty and the view is lost and it would be nice to wash the floors during cleaning the room, because if you walk barefoot your feet are immediately dirty. Overall, for the money it is very good, if they take into account and correct the little things - it will be great! If there is an opportunity, I will definitely come back again.

This was a real surprise. I was sent here by my travel agent, Nguyen Hoai at VivuTravel in Ha Noi. This is REALLY out in the countryside. The roads kept getting smaller and smaller until the car wouldn't fit any more and we had to shift over to a golf cart. Eventually, we worked our way through jungle trails until we came to this lovely pond with small individual huts on its banks. Each hut is a separate accommodation with its own deck. You can fish for fish or shrimp off your deck. Since this is Vietnam, you use rice for bait. I thought it was going to be a quiet evening alongside the water listening to the crickets until the karaoke started blasting me from somewhere off in the jungle. I don't know what it is about Viet Nam, but they seem to have these wonderful, peaceful, idyllic jungle or seaside settings that are perfect for reading, writing, or just sitting and enjoying the sunset. Then they destroy them by blasting them with loud, thumping drum synthesizers and off-key singing at volumes that could knock down a small building. Fortunately, the noise pollution didn't last too long and it didn't disrupt my sleep. I've had worse. Karaoke is the Japanese's revenge for losing World War II. It has been the bane of my travels throughout Southeast Asia. Anyway, it is a lovely location and definitely worth a visit. Bring ear plugs because you might get some bozo sharing his idea of thumping noise with you from several kilometres away. And it is HOT. Wow. Penguins are never going to migrate to the Mekong Delta. If your wife or girlfriend is always complaining about how cold it is, bring her here. No sane person could complain about being cold at the southern end of Vietnam. There is where Hell sends requests for more heat when it gets too cold down there. They have plenty to spare, believe me. But still worth a visit. You can get away from civilization and into the deep jungle. At night you can listen to the thumping drum synthesizers of the natives and pretend you are in a Tarzan movie. I have to commend VivuTravel and my travel agent, Hoai. I've been traveling in Southeast Asia for four months and every place I've been has been a unique experience. This is a relatively new facility but one which is worth a visit before it gets discovered and is swarming with tourists. That's the trouble with the world -- too many foreigners out there. See it now while you still can.

We were looking for a place to stay two nights to chill out, in between flights, and no surprises, and when we spotted this on Google, it didn't take us long to want to stay here. Indeed, the choice was perfect. The welcome from Michel, the owner, was warm and personal. And, I was sure he knew what guests wanted in their stays. We even took on his suggestion to use the private boat service to ”arrive in style”, but as luck would have it, our flight was delayed and we wanted to arrive early, which, thanks to Michel, an early check-in was offered. The 12 rooms were set on beautiful grounds overlooking the Mekong. (The noise from the river traffic, mostly in the morning, was not unpleasant, and was even soothing. Our garden room, one of four, was close to the boundary wall, and if we left our bathroom door open, we could hear chatter (and morning cockerill calls) from neighbours, but in the two nights we stayed, we were not disturbed by party noise at all. We ate dinners inhouse, the food - both French and Vietnamese cuisine - was delightful. The breakfast, ala carte, was filling, nutritious and delicious. I liked the hu tiao and pho, as well as the spread of fruits and bread with fruit jam. We were 20 minutes from town, so we managed well using Grab (about VND130,000), and we even ventured out to Ben Tre to try the macapuno coconut - Ben Tre is one of only three places in the world to grow this wax coconut commercially. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to stay again. If there's one suggestion i could offer, it is this: some paths aren't even, especially the stepping pavers leading to our room (#10) aren't flush with the ground. If one is used to standards of safety in one's home country where the edges of steps are highlighted in bright paint, then one should be alert to the risk of stumbling, especially at night. Thanks to Michel and the team for providing this gem of a place and impeccable service!

We went there with several friends. The hotel is right on the Mekong River. The location is good and the scenery is even better. We often go to the swimming pool. We like it very much. The hotel breakfast is okay. I will choose this hotel next time.

The rooms are large, the facilities are well-equipped, and there is a bathtub, although I don't need it. My room is closest to the river, so it's noisy starting at six in the morning. Overall quite satisfactory

I had the opportunity to stay at a hotel in My Tho city in June 2024, where the front desk staff were notably friendly and the breakfast was fairly comprehensive. My room, number 407, lacked windows and had a fairly hard bed, although the bathroom size was acceptable and there was a desk suitable for work. Despite these amenities, I find the hotel to be overpriced, charging 660k for the lowest rack rate. While the hotel features a rooftop bar, it is modestly equipped and the service there was disappointing. The staff at the rooftop bar lacked a basic understanding of customer service and hospitality, which greatly diminished my experience. Their insistence on closing promptly at 10 PM and rushing me to finish my drink was particularly frustrating. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, their only solution was to offer a 10% discount, which felt more dismissive than accommodating. This experience, along with other service issues, has left a sour taste in my mouth, not just for the hotel but for My Tho city as a whole. Unfortunately, I don’t foresee myself returning to either in the future.

The room is large, the bed is large, the transportation is convenient, and the water pressure is sufficient

Good hotel for the price. Breakfast not included but reasonable price. The hotel does not have massage service as advertised, probably recently renovated so it looks different.
