Honda Fit
This 7-day road trip from Nagoya to Tokyo was an excellent experience! Booking the car on Trip.com was very convenient, and the paperwork at the ORIX Nagoya pick-up point was quick and the staff were very helpful.
The Honda Fit was in excellent condition, very clean inside, and much more spacious than I expected, with no problem fitting luggage. The drive was smooth and fuel-efficient, making long drives very comfortable. Returning the car at the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station was also very quick, taking only a few minutes. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a road trip in Japan!

The car was clean and in good condition. The price was very reasonable. Although the store wasn't inside the airport, there was a shuttle bus, which was very convenient. The staff were very friendly and spoke multiple languages, so communication wasn't a problem.

What we were most satisfied with was that both the online customer service and the on-site staff could speak Chinese, which was very helpful for us. They were also very enthusiastic and helpful, answering our questions promptly, making communication very comfortable. Another point to mention is that we picked up and returned the car at Nagoya Station, and the RDZ store was located not far from the station. It was a genuinely reputable store, which gave us peace of mind. Because it's rare to see car rental companies with physical stores near Nagoya Station; most drop-off and return are done on the sidewalk, which feels less professional. Therefore, we highly recommend RDZ.

Honda Odyssey
I rented a car through trip.com. The owner and staff were all from mainland China and spoke Mandarin. Customer service proactively contacted me via WhatsApp to provide real-time updates. I rented a Honda Odyssey, but ended up with a Nissan Serena.
The car was a bit old, probably around 15 years old, but it was well-maintained, so it drove smoothly. The only downside was the heavily worn steering wheel, which felt a bit sticky. However, the total cost, including insurance, was less than NT$1800 per day, so it was acceptable for that price.
A great service was that after returning the car at the location near the airport, the staff drove us directly to the airport in the same car, saving us from queuing for a bus or carrying luggage. The staff also mentioned that if we picked up the car at the airport, they would drive it there to meet us, eliminating the need to go to the pick-up point.
The only downside was the 40,000 yen deposit for the ETC card. Using a credit card incurred a 10% transaction fee, but I didn't want to hold that much cash, so I paid in cash for highway driving, which was a bit hesitant.
Overall, this is recommended for tourists with limited budgets, but if you want to drive a new car and pay by credit card without incurring a 10% service fee, you should reconsider.

During the handover, the staff carefully checked the vehicle and even pointed out the locations of any existing scratches, so there was absolutely no worry about any issues when returning it. Traveling abroad is always a hassle, and I was constantly worried about encountering unexpected problems and my trip not going smoothly. Luckily, the car rental company we booked was incredibly considerate. When we changed our pick-up time, they rescheduled it for us. When returning the car, we left a shopping bag in it, and they immediately delivered it to the airport. I was truly pleasantly surprised. This thoughtful car rental company has been a huge help, saving us a lot of trouble. They kept in touch with us on WhatsApp, providing detailed instructions on how to pick up and return the car, and where to refuel. Excellent service.
