Upon review of the documentation provided, I note the following serious concern:
I was presented with and signed the German-language version of the rental agreement.
I have no knowledge of the German language and was not provided with an English version to review at the time of signature.
As a result, I could not have given informed consent to the terms and conditions.
This practice is inconsistent with fundamental principles of contract law, which require that a consumer must be able to understand the agreement they are signing. EU and German consumer protection laws clearly stipulate that contract terms must be transparent and comprehensible to the contracting party.
