10/10 for my stay at ParkRoyal Penang Resort. This stay was a birthday gift for my 73-year-old husband. Thanks to ParkRoyal for the complimentary birthday cake which pleasantly surprised and delighted him. Overall service here was first class. It was from the warm and cheerful bell-hop Yusani to the helpful and thoughtful Asvathy at Check-in Reception, Transportation and Sight-seeing thoughtful and caring Angeline, Diligent Housekeeping Ali to thev cheerful Chanond who sent the birthday cake to our room…and also staff at Cinnamon and Javana Lounge. They all are pleasant and polite. They served with a smile and made us feel welcome all the time. Truly appreciated the warmth and hospitality of this hotel. The breakfast at Cinnamon was impressive, sumptuous and came with a wide variety of choices. We enjoyed our 2 breakfast thoroughly. So, we were happy and glad to have booked our room with breakfast.. There is also a Welcome drink with cookies at Javana Lounge. It was, indeed. a great start to our stay. It should be offered to all guests checking-in. For guests who would like sipping cocktaile by the beach or at Javana Lounge, there is a 20% discount for room-booking with Trip.com. We, indeed, had a pleasant, memorable and enjoyable stay at ParkRoyal. Would be back someday for more birthday stay here in future.

We were traveling as a family and wanted to book a guesthouse with multiple rooms. Initially, we noticed there weren't many reviews on Ctrip, so we checked other international platforms and found the reviews to be quite positive. After comparing prices, we decided to book through Ctrip because it was cheaper. It's important to note that you need to contact the hotel directly via WhatsApp before check-in. The number is the same as the one on your confirmation. Send them your confirmation, and they will provide you with check-in instructions. The rooms were very nice, with large windows and a distant view of the sea. The kitchen was well-equipped with cups, plates, and cutlery. The air conditioning and water heater were powerful, but remember to turn them on a little before showering. The door has an old-fashioned lock; you need to lock it with a key when leaving, otherwise it can be easily opened. There are convenience stores and bakeries nearby, and it's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the main attractions, which is quite convenient.

Check-in: we arrived after midnight. No problem. Room: stayed in a twin bedroom. Tall ceiling, spacious. Toilet and shower cubicles are separated. Good layout. No complaints! Communal area: some people say the maintenance is not up to standard. I saw some water stains on the wall. To me it’s no big deal. Location: walkable distance to Komtar Building on 1st street to Lebuh Cecil Pasar on 7th street, and to Hins bus depot. Very good! Beyond that better take Grab. Breakfast: good selection. Ok quality. Good view. Check out: we used the left luggage service but it took more than 10 mins to get back. So factor in more time to avoid tight schedule to the airport. Overall: I have no problem to return to this hotel when it’s still relatively new!

The hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.

One of the things our family especially appreciated was the kids’ playroom ,it was clean, well-equipped, and kept our little one happily entertained. It made our stay even more relaxing knowing there was a safe and fun space for children. The overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely choose to stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting Penang.

Facilities: The hotel has complete facilities, everything you need is there. Hygiene: The hygiene is good, no obvious oversights. Environment: Facing the Strait of Malacca. Service: They helped with our luggage. As an antique hotel, its value for money is truly excellent. You can stay for just over 1000 [currency unit]. Online, the Heritage Wing is more recommended, but because of its age, we chose the newer Victory Annexe. Before checking in, I saw some online reviews and was a bit worried, but after experiencing it firsthand, I found it to be quite good. First, upon arrival, the staff at the entrance were very attentive. When our car pulled up, they helped with our luggage, and the luggage was even delivered to our room. When checking in, there was a Chinese-speaking person at the front desk, but it seemed most could only speak English. However, simple English was fine, and they also used gestures, making the process very smooth. The room assignment was also quick. After checking in, the hotel balcony faced the sea. This hotel is quite popular, with all kinds of nationalities, but there was no obvious favoritism towards Caucasians or discrimination against Chinese. Perhaps because I'm someone with strong boundaries, every staff member I encountered smiled and nodded in greeting, which even made me feel a bit shy; there was no coldness. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Blue Mansion. You can go for a city walk when you step out – still highly recommended!

I booked a sea-view room right next to Gurney Drive. It was convenient to grab a meal downstairs, and the breakfast was excellent. The pool is on the second floor and open until 8 PM, but it gets no sun after 4 PM. A dip in the pool was perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. The service was superb and very attentive.

This hotel's location is excellent, and the manager and all the Chinese staff are incredibly welcoming and genuinely friendly. The manager specifically pointed out a nearby laundry service, which turned out to be very convenient, and the massage parlor next door is also great. The lobby has a wonderful historical gallery detailing the hotel's past, which I found particularly impressive since other hotels I've stayed at don't offer such detailed insights. On the second floor, the elevator area provides a very thorough introduction to Peranakan culture and customs. The room layout is practical, and it's quite spacious. They provided delicious snacks and a complimentary minibar. The sofa bed in the living area can be pulled out, making it perfect for a family of four. In the evenings, there's live music, which is fantastic; enjoying a complimentary drink while listening to the songs is truly relaxing. The breakfast on the second day was also excellent. They had live charcoal-grilled bread, soft-boiled eggs, and the Penang curry mee broth was incredibly rich – certainly on par with what you'd find outside. The Nasi Lemak was standard. Overall, breakfast was quite good. The only minor complaint is that there was some dirt in the crevices of the toilet in the bathroom. However, the manager immediately called the head of housekeeping to inspect it, showing great dedication and responsibility. Also, despite the hotel facing the road and my room being on the second floor, the soundproof windows are top-notch; once closed, you can barely hear any noise. In conclusion, while the price isn't low, overall, it offers good value for money. I highly recommend it.

First, the basic hotel info: it's a 40-minute drive from the old town. We've stayed at many 'Roc' brand hotels before, but this one was surprisingly small. Also, there are no shows or performances on weekdays. Regarding cleanliness, our room faced the pool, which made it quite noisy. If you prefer quiet, you might want to request a room on the other side. Now, breakfast. It was still 'Roc' style, but there really wasn't much to eat. We booked a three-day, two-night stay, and on our second morning, we were told breakfast wasn't included. This was absolutely ridiculous! The hotel's front desk had already confirmed it was included, yet the restaurant staff insisted it wasn't. They kept making us reconfirm and even took photos. Couldn't they just check with the front desk themselves? This lack of attention to detail was really disappointing.

The location is fantastic, right by two large shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient—just a three to four-minute walk away. While you'll need a taxi to get to the old town attractions, it means the area is much quieter. There's a Hua Yang restaurant right under the nearby Gurney Plaza, and the wait times are much shorter than in Kuala Lumpur, so I finally got to eat there! The facilities are a bit lacking and can't compare to five-star hotels in China. However, the service is excellent, and they even offer a shuttle bus. Breakfast was a bit disappointing; they start clearing up right on time, and the variety isn't huge. Overall, the service was very good and proactive.

YYanne DjieWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious with a beautiful view, and the private beach made the experience even more special. The hotel facilities were great, and the service was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast was also very varied and enjoyable. When one of our rooms had an issue, the hotel responded quickly and handled it very well. They provided us with a new room, upgraded it, and even gave us a complimentary gesture. Thank you, Angsana 🙏

GGuest UserI stayed here on 10-11/4 room.1922 and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the check-in process was incredibly smooth, and the staff were very welcoming. The highlight of the stay was definitely the pool—it offers arguably the best view in the area and is a fantastic place to relax. I also loved the ”smart” room features; the keyless motion sensors for the air conditioning, lights, and TV felt very futuristic and convenient. However, there were a few aspects of the room that didn't quite meet expectations. The steam iron provided was quite difficult to use, especially since there was no ironing board available. I also found the hair dryer to be underpowered, taking significantly longer than a standard dryer to get the job done. Most importantly, I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the bedding. Unfortunately, the pillow had a noticeable lingering odor from a previous guest, which made it difficult to get comfortable. I think with a bit more attention to housekeeping and more user-friendly amenities, this could be a top-tier hotel.

QQing666666This hotel is located in a Malay-majority region, right next to a water park. It's RM30 per person for kids aged 12 and under, plus RM20 to rent a swim ring, which was quite fun. The hotel's breakfast was pretty good, and the swimming pool was decent too. What really stood out was the gym – it was exceptionally large and fantastic!

GGuest UserI found out about this hotel, part of the Marriott brand, through the TV show 'Outbound Love'. It has a colonial Nanyang style, and while it's not a huge property, it's very refined. The suite has a separate room with a double bed. The pool is clean and there's a kids' pool too. Overall, the room was clean and the bedding was tidy. The breakfast isn't super extensive, but the rice noodles and Teh Tarik (pulled tea) were excellent. There was a welcome drink, and the service was warm and attentive, though I had trouble getting through to housekeeping by phone. The beach isn't owned by the hotel, and while there are boats, it's not ideal for swimming. The area around is very convenient with food options and a supermarket. The Shangri-La is right next door, and there's a mosque nearby, so you can hear the prayers clearly. My room faced the street, and I could hear motorcycles at night.

LLee Ah JiaGreat hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. Wishing the entire team continued success and all the very best. Thank you once again for going above and beyond. Peharps this able to fully credit to the team.
