JW Marriott Washington, DC

Penn Quarter
The location is convenient, the room facilities are brand new, clean and comfortable. The front desk took the initiative to introduce the hotel to additional discounts and actively helped us arrange two rooms together. The view outside the window is also perfect! Recommended!

I've always wanted to stay at the Jefferson Hotel, and I'm glad we did. The location is excellent, not far from the White House and other sights. The building is very pretty, especially in the immaculately kept common areas. The staff are nonpareil! So helpful, all of them, from housekeeping to the concierge to the front-desk staff to the doormen, and all. The concierge (who also manned the front desk sometimes) and the lady who checked us in gave us a nice restaurant recommendation for Le Diplomate, which we really enjoyed. They gave us help at every turn, too many times to list. The room service at the hotel was very nice indeed, too. We had a breakfast and a dinner, and it was really superb. The dinner had a spectacular hamburger, a salmon tartare, and for dessert, a cranberry-cherry fruit crumble that we thought was out of this world. The truffle mac and cheese was wonderful too. We're very grateful to this hotel for our experience there, and we look forward to returning when next we come to DC!

Penn Quarter
The hotel is comfortable and spacious, with the elegance of an old-fashioned hotel. The breakfast is freshly made and delicious. Go to the central grassland, the core attraction, and the White House can be reached on foot. Two blocks away is Chinatown, which is convenient for eating. Macy's and various famous stores are not far away. One stop for all requirements. The only downside is that there is a humming in the ventilation duct that is facing, it must be replaced.

West End
First time in DC and was very happy with this hotel. Arrived late and check in was very quick and painless. Lobby and communal areas really well presented. Plenty of seating, in addition to a downstairs bar and restaurant. Bar was great, offering service both inside and outside (internal courtyard style) - sat outside a few times and really enjoyed the calm atmosphere. The room was clean and tidy. The main living space was more modern than the bathroom, which felt a little more dated, but still fine. Room faced the road yet didn't hear any noise or disturbance, which was really nice. Requested assistance for a minor issue (safe battery) which was rectified asap - great response. Wifi worked great all week. All in all this hotel was great. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and in a good location (for me at least). Would stay again for sure.

West End
Come to DC to live in Park Hyatt for 3 days. The area where you are located should be good. If you take a taxi, you can't go anywhere, but if you take the subway, there is still a distance from the subway station. The doorman is more welcoming. The only drawback is that the three nights of staying in the hotel did not change the toiletries once.

Penn Quarter
In summary it’s a pleasant, very well-located hotel, and FOH staff work hard to keep customers happy. But poor fit and finish in rooms, chaotic housekeeping, billing issues, and slow customer support aren’t in keeping with the luxury positioning. In depth: Reception staff were superb: friendly, helpful, professional, and a surprise upgrade to a suite was most welcome. The restaurant is also very good and its staff, while occasionally overattentive, do a good job. Location couldn’t be much better for easy walks to a plethora of DC’s sights, museums, restaurants, shops, and transport. The rooms lack a luxury look and feel. They’re spacious and afford impressive views, but blandly and sp****ly furnished in a way that feels very cost conscious. Sound insulation is poor, to the extent that conversations and TVs in neighbouring rooms are clearly audible, as is street noise during peak times. Water pressure is extremely low, so the rain shower is rather more like soft drizzle . As with other Hilton hotels since the pandemic, there’s no minibar, no menus, no guest directory. It all feels rather spartan. Housekeeping is poor. Carpets and soft furnishings seemed grubby. The sofa, in particular, had several stains that looked like they could be removed if anyone cared to try. Clean glasses placed in the room had lip marks on the rim. Our coffee supplies were often not replenished. The second time we mentioned it, on returning to our room, we found two plastic bags stuffed with coffee, sugar, and cream dumped on the table — a distinct “here, stop bothering us” vibe. The breakfast, though very nice, is costly if you’re not getting the Food & Beverage Credit. There’s no end of alternatives nearby. There’s an obligatory 25% tip plus $5 delivery on room service. Laundry costs are such that I found it more cost effective to simply buy some extra clothes. Finally, our Food & Beverage Credit wasn’t applied to our bill. Hilton don’t answer replies to your receipt, so you have to fuss with corporate contact centres, chatbots and web forms. Took nearly a week to get a response, though to their credit they cleared our food bill as a goodwill gesture.

District Wharf
Alone, The InterContinental Hotel, nestled in the center of dc's New wharf district, is pleasant and comfortable. But what really made my trip memorable, and many in my group, was the amazing lobby and desk staff. My first interaction with Aries at the door was incredibly warm and genuine. His always pleasant attitude and dedication to service made for a pleasantly comfortable arrival. This continued throughout my stay, a pleasant 'good morning Mr. Todd” each day helped set my mood for the coming hours of intense business. Renita, at the desk, checked me in with proficiency and kindness. During my stay, Renita was always ready to assist with the many requests and concerns I brought to her attention. This intelligent and thoughtful women was always looking for ways to enhance my, and my groups, experience. Later in the evening I got to meet the superstars of the night. Aiman, Jamar (”Teenie”), Nico, Dimitri and Jay are hospitality's finest. Their constant attention to detail and anticipation of my needs was a blessing each evening. Their care was genuine and abundant. Always eager to assist! Of course, thanks go out to Sopha for leading such a friendly and professional team! I departed with a warm heart filled with new memories of an amazing staff and hotel. The hotel views are amazing and the beds were extremely comfortable! Hope to be back soon1
Pendry Washington DC - the Wharf

Sofitel Lafayette Square Washington DC

Downtown Washington
From the time Brysen handled the details of our check in until the time we checked out, our party (which had nine rooms for a weekend) was handled with thoughtfulness and care. The facility is beautiful and well kept. The location is wonderful and convenient to everything. However, the team working at the hotel made our weekend. They were gracious, welcoming and extended us every courtesy to help us to navigate a very busy weekend. Taxis to get us to the event? No problem. Room service with complicated orders? Done. Brysen even ran out to pick up an order for us when we unfortunately arrived during a time when the kitchen was closed. Literally going the extra mile. We were treated as honored guests and had a lovely time. Thanks to Lindsey for the no fuss checkout with so many details handled efficiently and politely. We will return happily to Sofitel DC on our next trip to DC.

The Mall
We enjoyed a very special anniversary night at The Willard Intercontinental. I’ve lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years, but like most natives have rarely taken a vacation in my home town. I’ve always been fascinated by the long and storied history of The Willard, but never experienced it first-hand. I booked a regular one bedroom suite for my husband and I to celebrate our fifth anniversary. The Willard Intercontinental is dog-friendly, so we brought our dog with us to celebrate. A couple of days before checking in, I discovered through the IHG app that we were being upgraded to the Abraham Lincoln Suite. I am Intercontinental Ambassador and IHG Platinum Elite, but this upgrade exceeded all expectations. We arrived at the hotel and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The suite was very well-appointed and huge! We brought our own champagne and ordered a room service dinner up to our suite. The food was delicious, and not as expensive as we were expecting. The fact that this suite had a formal dining room, and a small catering kitchen made dining in the suite very convenient. After dinner we took our dog out for a walk to the Washington Monument and the White House….both only a 5-10 minute walk away. Thanks to everyone at The Willard Intercontinental for making our fifth anniversary so magical. We really appreciate it.
