Naeba Prince Hotel

There is a slope in front of you and the best location. This time, I used a plan with a ski lift ticket, so it was very good value. The room was a long time ago, but there is no problem because it only sleeps after skiing. The gondola from Naeba Ski Resort to the next Kagura Ski Resort was wonderful. However, it was difficult to have a balanced meal because it was an accommodation plan without meals. Since it was a weekday, there were many restaurants on holidays, and I felt that every restaurant was generally more valuable than the quality. There are two large communal baths, but one of the men's baths was under repair and could not be used, and the only underground large communal bath that was available was incredibly far away. Also, it was dark and lacking in cleanliness, probably because it wasn't cleaned very well, so I didn't want to enter twice. I think it would be difficult to stay unless it was for skiing purposes.

There is a 24-hour convenience store near the station, and the location is great. However, be careful as the parking lot is small. The lobby is small and there is a chair fight. I checked in from 14:00 (it is possible if I pay an additional fee), but it was still a little crowded and there was a chair fight. Check-in was given priority, so the check-in time was about 5 minutes. If you don't like the small rooms, you shouldn't come. (The Japanese suite is relatively large because it has two bedrooms) The view is not good. There is air conditioner, but it is fixed to 24 ℃ in winter and is hot. The food was delicious and there were so many, but it was good (however, the breakfast the next day I ate soba at night was hell) However, from 15:00, it is difficult to make a reservation for meals from 17:30. Because it is difficult, Check in from 14:00 will be easier to take. The hot spring was the best. There are three private baths, but the place called ”Iwanoyu” is crowded, and depending on luck on the day you check in (relatively vacant during dinner) ”Iwanoyu” is vacant early in the morning of the next day (around 4:00 to 6:00). In addition, there are ice candy (free) (evening and night) and Yakult (free) (early morning to morning) at the bathing area, and you can eat ”night soba” for free from 23:00. The service was substantial. The room had a coffee mill and coffee beans and I was able to enjoy authentic coffee. The customer service was also good. It happened to be good, but the people in the lobby and the people in the restaurant were good with a clear voice. (There seems to be no other customer service)
Yuzawa Grand Hotel

Location is excellent, about 1 minutes walk to the train station, or to the main street, both of which have lots of restaurants. The staff are very helpful, although only 1 lady could speak reasonable English. The rooms are very spacious, and comfortable, although the bathroom is on the old side. Those who used the onsen really loved it, although you have to pay an onsen tax, even if you don't use it. Breakfast is on the expensive side, and even little kids have to pay. However, free coffee/tea and soup are provided in the lounge area. There are lot of lockers, but only 2 washers/dryers. The dryer function is not effective, even after 60 mins of drying, so I ended up hanging the clothes in the room to dry instead.

Had a good experience in the hotel -- we snowboarded during our stay and the room was large enough to unpack our gear and get out quick! The drying area was near the exit, so we didn't have to go through unnecessary flights of stairs. The room isn't the most well-maintained room, but I usually get allergic to tatami mat dust and I didn't get a single allergic reaction during my stay. Slept like a log. Also the front desk was amazing -- Nim, thank you! The owner also personally escorted our car to safety as we stupidly used a non-4wd to a ski resort. Thanks Regan. The hotel isn't perfect -- it needs a bit more polish, but a few tweaks like improving the wifi signal and hiring more service-oriented personnel would improve the hotel by leaps and bounds.

Travelling with my mom. Had a brilliant stay even though there were super strong winds on that night. There was perfectly delicious restaurants nearby, only 2mins away was ootoya- excellent food and service. The man who was running the hotel reception was so kind and friendly and went to extraordinary lengths to help us with our luggage and shipping to our next hotel. The breakfast was also yummy, simple flavors but wonderfully traditional japanese fare. My mom has some mobility issues too, so we were glad to see the relatively spacious room and wider than normal bath tub. 100% recommended! One small issue with trip, not the hotel, I would have appreciated a more obvious flag out that the payment made online was a DEPOSIT. The man was quite flustered when I said I paid online already because you have to pay again when you get there then get a refund from trip after checking out. Please be aware of this when you book! But it was my oversight - although trip PLEASE emphasise these things a little more!
Hotel Okura Niigata

My family and travelled to Niigata at the end of April 2023 and had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Okura Niigata. Prior to the trip, I had reached out to them via email to inquire about coordinating a van + driver for us (6 of us) so that we could go visit some sake breweries and to make dinner reservations for us at a nearby restaurant. The concierge team was amazing and booked a large van (jumbo taxi) and driver for the day. they also ensured that the van could accommodate a folding wheelchair for one group member that needed it. The van and driver arrived on time and was quite reasonably priced. Great experience that was made possible by the hotel team! Upon return to the hotel, we realized we had left some items on the van - the hotel called the taxi company and coordinated the return of our items. Beyond these experiences, the hotel itself is a bit older but rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious for a hotel room in Japan. Location is great and the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones we had on this trip. If I should ever travel back to Niigata, I will most definitely be staying here. The hotel and team won my business by going above and beyond...even for Japan standards of customer service! Domo arigatogozaima****a!!!

About five minutes walk from the station, there is a car transfer, welcome drink is matcha, after check-in, leave your shoes and always slippers. I stayed in a Japanese style room, with a bed in a Japanese room, white based, Bright room with cleanliness The hot springs are not so large, but there is an open-air bath The meal is a restaurant, each group, made like a half-private room, and the face of other groups is not visible. The number of dishes Many, but the volume was about that, just good The restaurant has a courtyard and a pond where the cherry blossoms swim. It was quite a number, and it was amazing. In the lounge, after the evening breakfast, there was a coffee service (self service) The employees were all kind and nice. All the employees were kind and pleasant.

I went to go to the Gala Yuzawa ski resort next door. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, just call them, and they drop off or pick up, including other nearby areas. Nice breakfast in a stunning Japanese style room, western style available. There is a wonderful natural thermal hot springs in the hotel, free of charge. Great after a day of skiing. The room was very spacious, traditional Japanese style, everything worked great. The staff were all very friendly, and spoke some English, with the help of an electronic pocket translator. I wanted a late check out, and they charged me around $15 an hour, which was well worth it, as I was able to use the hot springs and take a shower after skiing, before a 5 pm train back to Tokyo, 70 minutes away by bullet train. The hotel also has a 24 hour nice museum about the history, no charge, and lots of other things to do: a library, a piano to play, nightly movies shown, board games, etc. This was one of my favorite stays in all of the world.

Hotel has good heating so perfect for winter stay. Nice fireplace area and nice holding area before stepping out into the cold. The hotel is down a hill from the main thoroughfare. A bit slippery downhill when it becomes icy. Run like a hotel so maybe a bit cold compared to a bed and breakfast. Onsen bath seems a bit dirty with things floating in there compared to other hotels we stayed at. We needed to move to another hotel which is 2km away and the guy offered to drive us there for 2000 yen! Just 1 luggage each and no skis. So on the whole just cold. Breakfast was 1000 yen seemed simple so we skipped and opted to eat in town instead. Probably won't stay there again.
Niigata Daiichi Hotel

It is one of the few inns in Niigata City where you can park your bike, and you can park at a private bicycle parking lot with a roof (reservation required). It is close to Niigata Station and there are many izakaya around, so you can enjoy seafood and local sake from the Sea of Japan. The facility is convenient for large communal baths, restaurants, and convenience stores of 1F to enter with indoor-equipped work clothes. Breakfast buffet is a large number of items in Japanese, Western and Chinese, and you can taste Niigata's specialties, including bristle squid sashimi, from the morning. I was able to meet a good hotel in Ku 々.
