Stayed as Sunshine Marine Lodge for 5 nights over Christmas in an ocean view room as a family of 3. What a fantastic place! The setting is incredible with beautiful garden surrounding the lodges, on the edge of a small cliff leading into crystal clear water. The food was great and catering for all and daily specials keeping the menu interesting. The staff were all wonderful right from the start and the added bonus of the dive center (equally outstanding) being on site. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

We had a great time! The ocean is next to the hotel. The rooms are very clean and there is hot water in the bathroom. Delicious breakfast in the morning. Safe - the area is guarded by a security guard. We recommend!

Кровать с балдахином от комаров, душ с бортиком, кондиционер, холодильник. Холодильник сразу не работал - дверь не закрывалась. Его заменили, но другой тоже не работал. Кондиционер сдох на второй день, чинить его никто не собирался. Благо, что работал вентилятор, это немного облегчало ситуацию. Завтрак включает в себя: фрукты, сок, кофе, омлет и блин. Кофе и блин в первый день зажали, на второй принесли. Салфеток на столах нет, надо просить. У отеля есть несколько лежаков на пляже, но они все заняты. Есть парковка под пальмой, но после неё всё лобовое липкое. Теперь об отношении. Попросили переходник, его обещали найти, но забыли. Искали поздно, не нашли, помогли евроштекер засунуть в розетку. Не работает холодильник - у нас проблемы с напряжением, другого не найдём. Кондиционер сломался - низкий уровень электричества, мы ничего сделать не можем. Из-за неработающего холодильника просили убрать шампанское в холодильник отеля. Советовались официанты с владельцем, тот разрешил, но не нашлось места в холодильнике, пришлось нести в свой первый отель. Чекаут написан в 10, просила до 11:30, разрешили до 11, хотя номер никому не нужен и убираться в нём не собирались. Номер в первое утро никто не убирал, хотя песок по всему полу - нет коврика у двери. В номере нет мусорок, шампуня, мыла, ни стульев, ни вешалки. По одному полотенцу на человека. Они все в пятнах, как и постельное бельё. Ну, и туалетный бачок протекал и круглосуточно раздавалось кап-кап-кап. Отель не рекомендую даже непритязательным туристам. Хоть он и близко к океану, вы будете разочарованы.

This place is exactly what we needed. We wanted to escape our busy life in Australia and go somewhere peaceful. This place is set in the trees, close to a private beach and only a short walk to the main more busy Nungwi area. We loved this because we could escape it or join it depending on our mood. Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back.

This is a real gem Of a hotel. It’s not your mainstream commercial hotel. The rooms are quirky, clean, comfortable and so homely. From the moment you walk through the gate you are so welcome like a member of the hotel family. Staff speak in first name terms and are so proud of their work. We moved here from Another large chain hotel that was really unpleasant. And we are so glad we did. Kharmis showed us our choice of rooms and was so helpful. Truly lovely and helpful man. Then we moved in. Wow. Waking up every morning looking at the beautiful ocean, the birds and then a lovely wander down to breakfast to be greeted by such friendly staff. Breakfast is nice and sets you up for the morning. Lots of fresh fruit and John makes the omelette - lovely. We were always looked after so well by zubeir and Andrew. Nothing was to much trouble. We spent time by the pool which is beautiful. Nice and warm and very very clean. Returning to our rooms they had always been cleaned to a beautiful standard. The bar / restaurant area is very tranquil And lovely to chill out in the afternoon and grab a bite to eat or a beer. The drinks are not inflated to local restaurants and much cheaper than the big hotel restaurants. It is easy to walk to restaurants and bars in the area either on the beach tide dependent or on the road. It is a slightly longer walk but it’s lovely and so nice to do to catch a sundown or walk off dinner! We booked 2 excursions from there from Mr Mahmoud both of which were great price and superb quality. And so reliable. We also used a local taxi that the hotel use - called Abra and he is great. All in all we had the best stay and very very sad to come home. About the big hotel chains and look at hotels like this as the service is exceptional.

Very nice location on the main part of the beach area in Kendwa beach. The hotel room is rather basic, and there was no hot water after the first night. The tap in the bathroom also had metal/ rust coming from the tap. The shower basically dribbled water and made a mess in the bathroom. There was no room cleaning during then2 days we spent here. The WiFi didn’t work at all making it very difficult to work online if your job requires it. The room had only 2 power points for charging devises and these were local power point so you’ll need an adaptor from the local store in order to charge your phone/ laptop. The included breakfast is basic- an omelette , a slice of toast, some fruit and a crepe. Only instant coffee includes. A cappuccino was an extra $4 a cup.
