This is my first leisure trip in 2025. That's a vey good experience trip with my wife. A modern and comfortable lobby lounge area provided a nice coffee area for a easy breakfast before my day trip. On the final day, i enjoyed the full buffet breakfast and staffs were really helpful with that gave people nice day beginning. Onsen provided me an refreshments daily and made me energetic, also relaxed me as happy ending. I forgot the female staff who received my fruit on 14Jan night. She and her colleague assist us to prepare the fruit which purchased outside. It was my nice dessert that night. Another memorable gentleman on 13Jan overnight, i was handling some business during overnight in sudden. Therefore, i went down lobby to complete it. He approached me for assistance and offering me help for wifi service. For the design of lobby, this is very great to locate the front desk towards the main entrance and the most front line to welcome guest. The FO team need to perform the most professional and consistently services. Especially the cold weather, they keep a good image to maintain professional. The shuttle bus driver was nice to take care us every evening back to hotel. For the room reservation, we selected the room with beautiful view Sakurajima and i could enjoy my drip coffee myself to see the sun raise. I will highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

There is a supermarket nearby, which I think is more convenient. The hotel and room environment is very good, and the private outdoor hot spring space in the room is also relatively large; The only thing is that the hotel is located near the city. Although it is more convenient, it also sacrifices and lacks the landscape of . This depends on personal choice. But in general, it is considered a hotel worth staying in.
Samana Hotel Yakushima

Splendid sea view from a beautiful, large, bedroom. 2 beds instead of one big. This could have been better to me. Service is excellent. People are nice, always trying to help, being resourceful on how you may handle your visit of the island. Top notch people. The real ”could be better” thing to me is, the restaurant that close really early (8.30pm if my memory is good), does server only buffet for 80kY. The buffet is of quality mixing Japanese, Chinese and Western styles of food. And also comes with nice desserts. However, having the choice to get only one A la carte dish could be a real plus. I personally do not want to get a full buffet for every and each of my diners. And if you do not have a car, finding another place to eat may become a challenge. There is nothing around at a walking distance except a supermarket. The breakfast is definitely qualitative. And if you intend to move early for visiting, the hotel can prepare you a breakfast and a lunch box for no overcharge. Basic but good and appreciated. To have another plus, they serves a local craft beer made with local cedar trees. Quite a good and interesting one.
La Vista Kirishima Hills

Its a good place as a onsen resort hotel. The onsens are really good. The food is so so but they provide free flow ramen and ice-pop at night as supper and snack. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. There is a private onsen tub at the balcony of our room. It is so nice to enjoy it in the breezy spring. It will be better if you have own car to stay here. There do not have much choice of public transport direct to the hotel. But hotel staffs are also helpful to assist you to grab a taxi to any scenic spots nearby. The taxi drivers are all very nice. Even they can not speak english well, they tried very best to drive slowly when we pass by beautiful sakura park and use simple english to introduce few scenic places. The hotel limousine provided us one way when we arrived the jingu station and one way when we checked out from the hotel to jingu for free. I like their service and have great stays here!

My sincerest gratitude to the professional service and helpfulness of the front desk staff in particular the Div. Manager, Mr. Atsuyoshi Kubota, who patiently search for available medical service during late hours for treating my wife's injury and also voluntarily arrange a staff to accompany us to the hospital. Ram Kumar, the accompanying staff, is instrumemental in our communication to the medical personnels and he is so kind to arrange late dinner for us at the hotel's discretion. They not only demonstrate the highest level of professionalism but also their genuine care of the well being of the customers. Once again, big big thanks to Mr. Kubota and his team of beautiful people. By the way, good breakfast and dinner, both in terms of the menu as well as service and venue.
Hotel Kyocera
9.1/572 Reviews
Hotel Kyocera is probably one of the largest hotel in Kirishima. It has two buildings ( main and annex) and looks quite good architecturally. They are connected by a bridge on the 3 floor which has the walking escalator- and a display of the various places that have been listed as world heritage sites in Japan. Inside the main building, there is a glass church which is ideal for weddings. In the basement, there is a large onsen, and spa. It is certainly a good place for having a holiday. The overall condition of the rooms are good- and the rooms are of good size. My room faces the East and has a perfect view of sunrise! There are two large parking lot and parking is free. # urbanexplorer #hotelinjapan #hotels
Art Hotel Kagoshima
8.7/5193 Reviews
We loved the view from the room, Sakura Island was just in front of us and we could actually see smoke coming out of its crater which was pretty awesome. The pools were also nice and the traditional restaurant near the lobby had some great Japanese food. The service was excellent, too. The only downside was that the bus stop is a bit far and walking to it in the middle of summer isn’t pleasant. But a taxi to the main train station costs around ¥1,800 which isn’t bad.
SHIROYAMA HOTEL kagoshima
9.6/5395 Reviews
It was a wonderful stay. The hotel management was excellent, and the room was in great condition. I want to give a special mention to Miss Gotanda 五反田, who guided me after check-in. Her detailed explanations and warm smile set a positive tone even before I checked in. The hotel's hot spring overlooks Sakurajima volcano, enjoy hot spring while watching the sunrise was a truly delightful experience. I will definitely come back again next time.
Suwa Onsen
8.3/53 Reviews
This place is incredible, ran by a small operation up in the mountains of Kagoshima. The onsen is something out of this world. Rich with iron and minerals from the mountain, it looks like something akin to a studio Ghibli movie from the outside. The staff are kind and very helpful and breakfast is a real treat for those who like a traditional Japanese breakfast. 10/10 would highly recommend and stay again. Also to note as a foreigner with tattoos the staff don’t seem to mind so much and my entrance to the baths was permissible. That may be helpful to know.
Kagoshima Sunamushi Onsen Ibusuki Hakusuikan
9.2/5147 Reviews
The check-in time for Hakusuikan is 3pm, and you cannot check in early. If you arrive early, you can go to the lobby bar to have some free drinks, which are delicious. Sitting in the lobby bar, you can see the typical Japanese courtyard style outside the window, and the sea is not far away. Walking out of the lobby, the sun, palm trees, and the seaside swimming pool give people the feeling of being in the south. When checking in, there is a dedicated one-on-one service, which will introduce the various facilities and services of the hotel in detail, and lead the way to the room. But the legendary Chinese waiter did not meet, he was a handsome young man's trainee. The characteristic sand steaming hotel in Ibusuki has it. Sand steaming is a unique hot spring experience. Put on a Japanese yukata at the entrance, and then lie on the sand. The waiter will bury the whole body in the sand heated by the hot spring heat. Generally, you will sweat profusely after 10 to 15 minutes. It is said that it can treat many physical discomforts caused by body cold. The price of sand steaming has increased from 1100 yen to 1540 yen per person. You cannot bring a camera or mobile phone to take photos. The photo fee is 1400 yen per photo, which will be settled together when you check out. The photos are printed and clipped in a small album. There is no electronic version. To be honest, it is better not to take photos. It feels too silly, especially the two flower paper umbrellas. The sand steaming is connected to the Genroku Onsen Baths. After the sand steaming, rinse the sand and soil at the entrance of the hot spring and go directly to the hot spring. The Genroku Onsen is very large. The hotel also has a Songyun Hot Spring, which is on the second floor next to the lobby, but it is just a large pool and the facilities are relatively simple. It is recommended to walk a few more steps to the Genroku Onsen bar. The dinner is Japanese, one by one, and each dish looks a little bit, but it is very full in the end. The hotel's free bus goes to Ibusuki Station. There is a bus to Ibusuki Station at 9:00 and 10:10 every morning. At 15:15 in the afternoon, Ibusuki Station picks up passengers to the hotel. The rest of the time you can only take a taxi. Fortunately, Hakusui-kan is not far from Ibusuki Station, and the taxi fare is about 1,200 yen.
