Shirahama Key Terrace Hotel Seamore
8.9/5411 Reviews
We stay in 4 people Japanese style ocean view. The room is too old and small, stains on wall and closet door. The bed is thinner than expected. Buffet breakfast has not much choice, swimming pools and many other things have to pay extra. All staff are nice except one guy in the game room area is very rude! Outdoor hot spring have many insects and have to walk stairs . Overall the stay is unpleasant.

We absolutely cannot contain our elation when recalling our recent stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment we stepped into the elevator adorned with personalized name cards, my husband and I were enveloped in the warm embrace of hospitality. The attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the staff made us feel like VIP guests. They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards. But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection. The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for. I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. So if you seek a hotel experience that transcends mere accommodation and transforms into a symphony of opulence, impeccable service, and culinary artistry, then look no further. This is the epitome of hospitality, a sanctuary where dreams come true, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who craves an unforgettable journey of indulgence and delight.
KAMENOI HOTEL NACHI KATSUURA KUMANO KODO

I've stayed at the Kame no Ii before, and it felt like an ordinary chain traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. This one seems to be newly renovated on the basis of an old hotel, which exceeded expectations. The private hot spring pool is made of stone, and the Pacific Ocean is outside the fence. However, the shower facilities are right next to the hot spring pool, and they are also open-air. The hot spring pool is very warm in winter, but it's a bit cold when taking a shower. There are some amusement equipment in the lobby, including table games and coin-operated machines, and I dream of Namco 🤣 The dinner is a set meal, a bit exquisite, and there is also Kumano beef. It's pretty good. The breakfast is more standard Japanese style, and there is no particularly delicious memory point. I stayed in Nachikatsuura for one night in Urashima and one night in Kame no Ii, and it was a different experience. Kame no Ii's room is updated, especially this private hot spring is really recommended.

- nicely designed and well maintained hotel, very quiet - away from the Main Street, not very convenient, shuttle bus is very limited, only two in the morning to the train station, you have to book in advance - no gym or pool or a la carte restaurant options - great ocean view from the room, lobby and Onsen - service was subpar, the onsen floor was slippery, I fell and injured my hand and feet, had two medicated plasters from the reception and that was it - lots of people were taking photos in the mixed bath onsen???
Grampus Sea

Grampus Shirahama A modest hotel right near the ocean. The room was clean, but the air conditioning was all dirty. I wouldn’t want to stay here in summer. The breakfast was nearly the same as in every other hotel in Japan, though the grilled fish was a bit stale. The dining room has a wonderful view over the ocean. The staff almost didn’t speak English but tried to help anyways. Plus: the hotel has its own onsen. Minus: no bathroom in the rooms, only toilets on the floor, no shower.

It’s a perfect getaway for the hustle and bustle of our city life. We have enjoyed a lot of the onsen experience. Worth mention that the hotel has offered several activities on spot, fishing, a walking trail around the island with a scenic onsen foot bath.

Since mu friend and I did a hiking trip, we walked to this accommodation. I think it would be better to drive or taking bus to there instead of walking. I really appreciate the outdoor onsen. The hotel is very close to the bus stop that taking us to our next hiking point, just a few minutes walk. There are some attractions nearby, like the big figure hanging on the bridge. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit them. If you’re staying here, you should arrive earlier and take a look at the surroundings. The front desk staff can speak Mandarin. So if you are a Chinese, you will find it easier to communicate. The hotel is very clean, because you need to change shoes everywhere.

I'm a big fan of onsen hotels and tried almost 10 different onsen hotels so far in Japan and this one is definitely the biggest one, even though its not that Japanese style and a bit old overall. The cave onsen (it has 2) is awesome!!! And have a deck to see sunset and ocean view. The turtle boat is cute.

This is our last stay of our Kumano hiking. Since it was winter, not that many guests. There are a few toilets and face washing areas. We had a cozy stay. The location is very close to the JR station. The other side of the JR station is full of restaurants. We decided to rent a car to travel along the coastal area then back to Wakayama the next day. Toyota-a-car is the only car rental shop to allow us to do so, which is also extremely close to this accommodation. Just 5 mins walk. You’ll have to book to use the onsen. The water is hot enough to save my legs after a long hiking day. Value for money, highly recommended.
Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel

I had a great experience staying at this hotel! The view from our room was amazing and we particularly enjoyed the private onsen, which allowed us to unwind while watching the stunning sunset. The staff were all very friendly and polite, which made our stay even better. However, the hotel's location is next to the beach, which means you have to climb a slope to get there. It is also quite far from the JR station, and the only public transportation available is a 30-minute bus ride. Additionally, there are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so you might want to plan ahead for meals.
