Yufuin Onsen
I stayed at ”yamachahana” for one night from October 15th (Sun). It has a very moist and calm atmosphere, and you can see Mt. Yufu in front of you from anywhere, and it is a 7-8 minute walk to Yunotsubo-dori and Lake Kinrin, so it is perfect for enjoying Yufuin while holding a basket. I think it's an inn. [About guest rooms] The guest rooms, which are separated from each building, are quaint, and the small diameter that approaches the room is also very nice. The rooms are very large and luxurious, with living rooms, bedrooms, hot springs and terrace separated. What I was worried about was that the distance from the next room was close, so I could hear the voice of the next room, the lighting was too dark overall, the rain leaked on the terrace, and the bed was uncomfortable. [About Onsen] The room has a stone indoor bath that two people can take slowly and a semi-open-air bath of wood for one person, so you can enjoy bathing at any time 24 hours. It was a simple spring, but it was a little numeric and it was a very pleasant hot spring. The hot water temperature was just right. [About meals] Japanese kaiseki dinner was served in a private room, and American breakfast was served for breakfast. The dishes that I feel particular about the appearance and vessels are very delicious dishes that stimulate the five senses, and I felt the level of Yufuin, but compared to that of a long-established luxury inn in Yufuin, I want you to do your best a little more. However, I think it is a big plus point that a certain drink was served as a free drink at dinner. [About service] The staff are all young, but I was able to tell that they were polite and hardworking, and it was a good service. Also, the service that allows late check-out until 13:00 at 2,200 yen per hour was a nice service for the cherry blossoms. However, I was confused that there was one male staff member who didn't know anything at the front desk.
Dormy Inn Oita

Excellent location, just next to Oita JR station. Room is clean and well designed, bed is comfortable. However, the pillows are a bit too thin. Free Ramen serves at 9:30-11pm which is so good. Carpark is available onsite which costs ¥1500 per night but there are a few cheaper overnight carparks nearby hotel which are very convenient.
Grandvrio Hotel Beppuwan Wakura - Route Inn Hotels -

This time I decided to stay at a slightly better hotel, so I used this one that opened last year and 4 people including 1 preschooler. I stayed in a triple room on the mountain side. I usually only stay in a room with a toilet and a bath immediately after entering, with two beds in the back, and a desk and a TV opposite (child talk). The two children were excited. There is a center partition on the road in front of the store, so the warehouse from the Beppu area will be a U-turn from where I went for a while. I checked in at 15:00, but I was distributing hell steaming and plum sake next to the front desk and had it immediately. It was delicious. Immediately after that, take a bath. The hotel itself seemed to be booming, but this time was still available. It is comfortable as a wide 々. The hot water temperature is also good. There is a draft beer server, a drink bar and ice cream where it goes up. This is only the night time zone. It feels like it's getting crowded, so it might be a good idea to enter early. Supper is a 90-minute two-part system. There are children, so it's early from 17:30. Because it is a half Viking, I bring steak and appetizers. I can't help but be worried about the food on the buffet table, but I think it's easier to consult with you if you're full if you touch the table service dish first. All-you-can-drink alcohol. I don't usually drink it, but because of poor development (laughs), I had a little apricot dew. If you are a drinker, it is heaven. There are many delicious dishes on the buffet table, so I was very satisfied. After the meal, go to the playroom with the child. Children were addicted to toys such as push pop, but there is a space where they can play in various ways. If you are traveling with children, you may come out once. By the way, there is no toilet on the 2nd floor, so this is quite troublesome. The room is new so it is large and clean. I think the view on the sea side is good, but that's a consultation with your wallet. I went to the bath from the morning the next day. It was around 6:30, but it was a reasonable entry. It seems that it is crowded if it is late. Breakfast starts at 7:30. The receptionist at check-in asks you the start time, but unlike dinner, it is not an hour system, so if you go at 8:30 or so, you will have a restriction on admission. The staff was also concerned about that area, and the table was about to be cleaned up when the bride & younger child was going to the toilet, and the older child and I were going to pick up dessert. There are some types of buffets that cannot be compared with eating at once in a mix of Japanese and Western styles. There are raw fish and some types of grilled fish are also served at the table. This was delicious. I mean, everything is delicious. Around the lobby on the 1st floor, there is a drink bar in the evening bathing space, and there is a coffee machine in the playroom, which is generous. There is also hell steaming, where you can enjoy plum wine or shochu, so even those who do not eat can enjoy it. Still, I think that eating can enjoy this place. Also, if you stay at peak time, you may be vacant and satisfied if you take early action (evening bath, morning bath, breakfast). I stayed with a lot of children. This time I stayed in combination with Harmony Land (if you go the next day, turn left and turn U). There are many rooms as it is, so it may not be suitable for those who want the quietness of adults. It may be good for a lively but OK group, a group that likes alcohol.

Yufuin Onsen
The waiter at the hot spring hotel is very attentive. After arriving at the hotel, the waiter will lead you to the room where you are staying. The waiter will explain the hotel facilities in detail, including the opening hours of the outdoor hot spring, meal arrangements, etc. Bob, the waiter who received us, spoke very fluent English, was attentive to arrangements, and had a friendly smile, which made people feel very relaxed and natural. The waiters here understand Mandarin and have no problem communicating. The room I booked this time is equipped with an independent bath, which is semi-open-air. You can see the outdoor scenery. The water quality and temperature are very good, and it feels very good. In addition to enjoying the hot spring in my room, I also soaked in the public hot spring in the hotel. There is an outdoor and an indoor hot spring. There are time limits. Although the hot spring is not too big and can accommodate 6 people each, there was no one during the time I soaked. Maybe Let’s all enjoy the bath in the room. However, I recommend that you book a room with an independent hot spring bath, because you can soak in the hot spring at any time. There are not many rooms here, and they are highly private, so you can enjoy a peaceful a**osphere. I booked a stay with two meals. This meal is mainly fish. In addition to raw fish and grilled fish, friends who like to eat fish should not miss it.
Ryotei Matsubaya

It has the highest number of hot spring sources and the highest amount of hot spring water in Japan. Among them, eight hot spring villages with a long history (Hamawaki Onsen, Beppu Onsen, Kankaiji Onsen, Hotta Onsen, Myoban Onsen, Kannawa Onsen, Shibaseki Onsen, Kamegawa Onsen) are called Beppu Hatto. The [Ryotei Matsubaya] where I stayed this time is located in the Kankaiji Onsen area, one of the eight hot springs of Beppu. The inn is located on the slope of a mountain on the west side of Beppu City, on a hill where you can see the mountains on the west side and Beppu City and Beppu Bay on the east side. The inn was located on a steep slope with no shops nearby, so we needed a car to go out after arriving at the inn. [Ryotei Matsubaya] has two types of guest rooms: the old building [Oka no Sou], which has 10 standard rooms, and the new building [Tsuki no Sou], which has 8 guest rooms. The new building [Tsuki no Sou] has three types of guest rooms, [Stylish Modern], [Japanese Modern], and [Maisonette], which are oriented towards a new ryokan style. The accommodation fee is slightly higher than the Japanese and Western style rooms [Oka no Sou]. It is set. This time, we stayed in the [Maisonette] type in the new building [Tsuki no Sou]. Prices vary slightly depending on the season, but the cost of accommodation this time was 48,000 yen per person, per night, including two meals. The maisonette-type guest room is 100 square meters in size, with a living room and Japanese-style room on the lower floor, and a daybed sofa next to the window. There are chairs on the balcony where you can relax while looking out over Beppu city. There is a twin bedroom on the upper floor, an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and honestly it was too big for two people to stay in. From the room and open-air bath, you can see Beppu city and the tourist attraction Global Tower right in front of you, and beyond that you can see Beppu Tower and Beppu Bay. The night view also looked beautiful. Apparently you can't see much of a view from [Oka no Sou]. The open-air bath on the upper floor can be accessed directly from the indoor bath, and is about the size of two tatami mats. It is installed on the balcony, but there is a partition to hide it, so you don't have to worry about it being seen from other places. In addition to the open-air baths in the rooms, there are five shared hot spring baths in Tsuki no Sou and Oka no Sou, all of which can be used free of charge without reservations. Types of baths are: Private open-air bath••••••2 Private semi-open-air bath•••1 Indoor family bath••••••1 Large public bath (separate for men and women)••••1 Common bath available Time: 15:00-24:00 06:00-08:00 the next morning (some baths can be used until 09:00) I took a bath in one of the private semi-open-air baths [Yakushi no Yu], which is carved out of a large monolith. It was a very large bath that could accommodate about 10 people. From the bath, I was able to see the beautiful night view of Beppu. The hot springs were very pleasant to the touch, but the temperature of the hot springs was quite high, so I had to add water to cool them down before I could enter. Meals are served in the building's dining area both in the morning and in the evening. It's a semi-private room, so you can eat slowly without worrying about other people watching you. The menu for this dinner is as follows: ●Seasonal platter ●Clam shinjo ●Sashimi of spiny lobster and seki mackerel ●Stone-grilled abalone ●Simmered Japanese beef tail and radish ●New bamboo shoots Shrimp with cherry leaves Namafu Fried rice ●Seafood Salad ●Japanese black beef with sesame sauce Warabi Bamboo shoots Sokatsu ●White rice Pickles ●Fruit salad Sakuramochi Each dish was served with seafood from the Bungo Channel and from the mountains of Oita, so each dish was delicious without getting cold. The breakfast had a wide variety of items and I was able to choose between rice or porridge and it was delicious. ●Location: Approximately 10 minutes by car from JR Beppu Station ●Check-in: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM ●Check-out: 11:00 AM ●Spring quality: Colorless and transparent simple spring ●Efficacy: Neuralgia, muscle pain, recovery from fatigue, Arthralgia, motor paralysis, health promotion Frozen shoulders, sensitivity to cold, chronic digestive diseases, joint stiffness ●Source temperature: 65℃ ●Bath temperature: Natural source water. Water is added for temperature adjustment ●Five shared baths ●Parking for about 10 cars ●Rooms: 8 rooms [Tsuki no Sou] 10 rooms [Oka no Sou] ●Facilities: Wi-Fi available ●Pets not allowed My impressions after staying in the city are As someone who lives here, it feels like I'm staying in a somewhat stylish apartment, but I wonder if the room has the atmosphere of a Japanese inn or a hot spring inn. That's what I thought. However, this is just a matter of personal preference, so I think it's a great place to stay with your family, with an attached open-air bath, a large room with a great view, 5 shared and private hot springs, and delicious food. The old building has also been renovated and renovated, so please choose the room that suits your taste. This inn is located halfway up a small mountain on the outskirts of Beppu city. The location is not suitable for going out at night, so we recommend it for those who want to finish sightseeing before checking in and spend the night relaxing at the inn. The values, tastes, and sensibilities of traveling vary from person to person. You can't rely on other people's preferences, including mine, and you can't rely on travel site reviews at all. One of the joys of traveling is finding an accommodation of your choice based on the candid opinions of people who write reviews. Beppu has good hot springs and many attractions. Please visit Beppu once.

Yufuin Onsen
What a lovely place to have a retreat. It's away from the crowd but near the yufuin station....about 500 m. They don't have many rooms so it's quiet. Just outside the hotel is Lawson. Restaurants are also nearby. The hotel looks like a resort with beautiful landscaping. Staff is hospitable and although some don't speak very good English, they try their best. They allow us to keep our luggage at the lobby before check-in and after checkout. The hotel is simply generous with free drinks almost throughout the day and night, free usage of bicycles , beer and instant noodles are sold at a cheap price. It's a self contained hotel. Everything is there. The 4 private onsens are great. Rooms are clean but a bit cramped and it would be good if they have more hangers to hang clothes. A mirror on the wall would be better than a small table mirror. If you're not a cat lover, you might not be impressed when you see their cats walking on the food tables and sitting on the sofas. The small details like a note welcoming you and a photo of you at the end of the stay are why I would love to come back again.

Kannawa Onsen
I recently stayed at Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan, and it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and relaxed. The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views. What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again. Note: they provide shuttle from/to station with time slot! Convenient

Yufuin Onsen
It is a 5-story inn. To commemorate the anniversary of its founding 111, there was a free beer drink service in the lounge. It is a long-established inn in Yufuin Onsen. The customer service of the front desk staff was polite • and kind. I was able to answer the difference between Yufuin and Yufuin properly. I stayed in a large Japanese-style room on the 5 floor. When I opened the curtain, Mt. Yufu was approaching in front of me. The bathrooms are not unit-type, and the bath • Toilet • wash basins are independent. Supper is a summer Oitagawa kaiseki course. All the dishes were delicious. In particular, the dishes that left an impression on me were grilled on a Japanese black beef hoba miso ceramic plate. The warmed miso has a hoba scent, and the slightly sweet taste goes well with the beef. The more you want to refill it with an exquisite taste. Breakfast is buffet style. I was satisfied with the local menu of Oita Prefecture, including dango soup. There are two indoor baths in the large hot spring bath with a spacious space. There is also a whirlpool bath and a Louis Bosti hot water of the incense hot water. The open-air bath has natural rocks on the side facing the garden. The hot water temperature is a little hot and has a feeling of slimy. What is it in the indoor bath! Yunohana. Yunohana, which crystallized the hot spring ingredients, was in bloom in the bathtub. The hot spring is a good proof. I was able to stay at this hot spring inn and became a good memory of my husband and wife trip.
Rembrandt Hotel Oita

I went to Oita in a hurry at the law, and I booked with my wife for two minutes, but I was told to the front desk that I had a large room, and when I entered the room, it was really large, clean and clean room, and I was grateful. Breakfast was delicious in buffet style. I walked because I thought it was close to Oita station, but it took me a while.
Seaside Hotel Mimatsu Oetei

This hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the JR Beppu station. It is easy to find as you just walk towards the seaside until you see the Beppu Tower beside a main road, the hotel is behind it. There is a 7-11 beside the tower, and a bus stop in front of the tower, so is quite convenient. If you take the bus to visit the 7 Beppu Hells starting from the JR station and follow the sequence, i.e. Chinoike and Tatsumaki Jigokus as the last two hells, and you take the bus towards the Beppu station, you can stop directly in front of the tower, this complete a full circle of your Beppu Hell tour. I booked a seaview Japanese room and the view is great. The room is also spacious for Japanese ryokan standard. There is some minor renovation and furniture replacement done, so the room is a mixture of new and worn. There are two onsen baths in this hotel: one at the top floor, an open air onsen bath and one at third floor, which is an indoor onsen bath. The dinner and breakfast are both average though. Overall, I am quite happy with my stay here.
