Staying at a rorbuer hotel in Norway was an unforgettable experience. These charming cabins, originally used by fishermen, have been beautifully refurbished to offer modern comforts while preserving their authentic character.

The little fishing village of A can get submerged by day-trippers from the Bodo ferry but although the simple Hamna Rorbuer cabins are right in the heart of the village (don't get them confused with others of a similar name!) their individual wooden decks overlooking the water ensure a measure of quiet and privacy that is to be savoured. Our cabin had a delightful, simple living-room/kitchen, with a remarkably well equipped galley kitchen and a dining table right by the window, and a separate bedroom with plenty of light and comfy beds, and a very adequate bathroom. There are no real dining possibilities in A, and the village shop has limited supplies, so arriving visitors may need to bear this in mind. But it's a minor inconvenience compared with the delightful surroundings.

Awesome place, sleeping in a typical Norwegian place is something else, we were during November, maybe add a television should be good as the night is coming at 15h but anyway pleasant stay there with everything’s needed to cool and enjoy your stay there.

Very beautiful and suggestive location! Very well-kept Rorbu, warm, clean, equipped with a hairdryer and everything you need in the kitchen. Clean linen is left on the bedside tables inside a bag and then at the end of the stay it is put back in there. Beautiful view of the sea and other Rorbuer. A few steps from the only restaurant in A. Parking under the house, super convenient!

Cute little cottage, clean and modern furnishings, soothing waterfront location. Unfortunately, communication leaves much to be desired, standard amenities are incomplete, and the price is significantly too high for the included services. 2 stars because 3 stars would indicate "satisfactory," which it wasn't.

delightful little house, it felt like being in a fairy tale! in the kitchen there was everything you needed (except for a few more pots...) even a dishwasher. clean facility. tiny but characteristic rooms. linen provided in the bags (unfortunately only 1 towel...). fabulous view of the aurora because there is little light pollution. in the morning the sun comes in through the windows and the cries of the seagulls are the only sound! sleeping on the water is fabulous! she remained in our hearts!

We booked a lodge for one night through booking. We did not receive any instructions for handing over the lodge and when we arrived at reception there was no one to welcome us. We had to call the owner who explained to us remotely how to access the lodge. The lodge was very large with a nice sea view but at the same time very cold and unwelcoming. The windows in the room were totally dirty and greasy, not to mention the radiator was rusty and brown with dirt, not to mention the refrigerator which had grease and food stains on the shelves. The bed had to be completely made with sheets placed in an IKEA bag on the floor. the bedroom had dirty walls and hair or hair in the bed. We didn't feel like staying, we left, informing the owner of the reason for our escape. Obviously, having already paid, he didn't give us any refund because we didn't give him the chance to make up for it but, seeing the state of all the other lodges, we preferred to leave. The much worse thing was that he communicated our no-show to booking so as not to allow us to leave a negative review as we had anticipated and this is also totally dishonest.
