Food was great, bar was great and staff were excellent. However, no wi-fi in the room. No chair and nowhere to put your loose clothes /case. And a wardrobe which was too big for the room so only one door opened. Room was very tired. Also the door was so noisy (WD40 required) that I must have woken up the neighbours. If the ownership were as good as the staff, it could be a good hotel.

Arrived here soaked through after cycling all day in the wind and wet (great-no midges!!) and were looked after so well by the staff. Bikes were housed, clothes dried and souls restored. Restaurant was closed but we were given plates and cutlery to consume a takeaway curry for a much needed curry. Breakfast was superb - very good local ingredients very well cooked and presented. Top place.

The inn was very quiet with only a few customers today but there was a very warm welcome in this old inn with a lovely log fire burning away. I had a lovely goat cheese salad with delicious grilled figs and my OH had pork terrine with apricots. We both had trout with beetroot purée and sweet potatoes, which was excellent. Although we thought we had quite enough to eat after this, since portions were generous, we succumbed to pudding, I having chocolate fudge cake and my OH having sticky toffee pudding, both served with lovely ice cream. Once again, portions were enormous. Friendly attentive staff and terrific value, as the above with two large glasses of wine, a bottle of sparkling water and a or of tea came in at around £72. Fantastic! Can’t understand why this place was not really busy. I would definitely recommend it.

Great food, hospitality and atmosphere. We attended an evening banquet in the main funtion room (lovely) and had breakfast both mornings, after finding that our accomodation (in the much inferior Aberfoyle Inn) didn't serve breakfast. The food at the Forth Inn was delicious and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Lovely staff and great food! Really enjoyed the steak pie (the chips were ok - not the best but certainly not the worst) but the actual steak pie was gorgeous. Had a lovely glass of wine too. Would recommend!

We booked into the Forth Inn whilst attending a wedding at nearby Altskeith Country House. The welcome on arrival was warm as was the service throughout our stay. We were in room 4 which overlooked the front of the hotel and the car park. The room was pretty basic and the two single beds had been pushed together to make a double which was fine but it meant one side of the bed was right up against the wall which made getting in and out interesting. The shower didn't drain properly and we meant to mention that to the staff so apologies for not doing so. The towels really need replacing as they were very thin and threadbare. Breakfast at the Forth Inn was very good and the service was very friendly. The dinner menu was good, wholesome pub grub. The Forth Inn has so much to offer but I suspect, like many establishments, the pandemic has had an effect.

Stayed at The Forth Inn for one night before a trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park with my husband and our 5 year old daughter. We were held up on route and were very pleased that the hotel phoned us to double check our whereabouts and to point out the kitchen was shutting soon if we required food. They were good enough to keep the kitchen open till we arrived and we had a lovely meal. The Inn had a lively atmosphere, friendly staff and my husband and I both wished we could have sat in the bar till late having a good few drinks. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and the guy serving breakfast was very welcoming and accomodating. The room was totally fine, don't go expecting it to be super modern, the beds were comfy and we had a good night's sleep. Would definitely return if we ever find ourselves in Aberfoyle again.

A friend and I stayed whilst walking the Rob Roy Way. It met our needs but could do with a few small changes. The cushions and bed had quite a lot of dog hairs. We weren’t too fussed by this but just a little remark. In addition the shower wouldn’t drain and it was a little gross with some white stuff floating around the bottom. The towels were also all stained. Otherwise the room was basic but fine for our night. All staff are incredibly friendly and the general atmosphere is nice and laid back.
