Apartment 4: Although beautifully decorated, it is still 'bedsit' accommodation, with sleeping, eating and cooking all in one room. There are sloping ceilings and even though I'm just over 5ft, I managed to bang my head on the ceiling - this was a constant issue for my husband who is nearly 6ft. The seaviews are minimal from the attic-type windows. It's also located up very, very, very steep stairs. It's only since we've returned home that I've gotten the full story. On arrival, my husband was told that we would be staying in this location. No reason was given, and it was only when he asked the reason was he informed that our original accommodation was double booked. No apology, and no offer of compensation for their error. They could have informed us either by email or phone call of their error, and given us the option of either accepting alternative accommodation or a refund. Once we'd travelled the 3 hours, we were sitting ducks, and unlikely to want another 3 hour return journey. Unfortunately, because of this I now have a negative view of Aberystwyth and unlikely to return.
