Seti Abu Simbel Lake Resort

Absolutely fantastic. Mohammad the Manager of the hotel went above and beyond helping us on our solo trip to ensure everything was perfect. We arrived to Abu Simbel from Aswan by car, which we arranged through the hotel with Mohammad’s assistance. The driver was absolutely fantastic, and the car brand new. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to travel to Abu Simbel or needing a ride from / to Aswan & Luxor. Thank you Mohammad and Peter for everything, you have made our experience truly memorable.

We only stayed for one night; we visited the Abu Simbel temple with our group of seven on a trip through Egypt. Also, the sound and light show. The resort landscaping is absolutely stunning! And those three beautiful swimming pools. Our room was very large, with a big bathroom, a seating area and an out sore doors balcony overlooking a lake. The buffet is unbelievably huge, offering about anything anybody could ever want to eat. Even the garnishes are attractive and sculptural. As in most hotels in Egypt, this one also needs washcloths.

A trip to Abu Simbel isn’t a bargain venture, especially since an overnight stay is really necessary. After scrutinizing all the options, I settled on the Seti and am very happy I did. Abu Simbel has at true sense of adventure as it’s in the middle of nowhere, just 30km from the Sudan border on the shores of Lake Nasser. The Seti fits well with stone balconies that frame the lake and the sand dunes beyond. The two pools are beautiful, and there are a ton of outdoor places to sit and take it in. Rooms have a lot of character with domed ceilings and a screen door on your porch to enjoy the breeze. The air con, WiFi, fridge and kettle all worked well. The restaurant has all day à la carte and a buffet for breakfast and dinner. There are two bars as well. I thought the Abu Simbel temples were the best in Egypt. I had no idea the interior of the Ramses II temple was so extensive. It’s a 10 minute walk to the ticket office and a further 10 to the temples. If it’s hot, hotel can provide a car and driver who will wait 2 hours while you are in the temples for $20. Overall, a very worthwhile splurge.

I host Egyptian tours which include a visit to the spectacular Abu Simbel temples. We used to schedule a 1-night stay at the Seti Abu Simbel Hotel, but so many of our guests requested extra time there that we now schedule a 2-night stay — and guests are still asking for more! The hotel is perfectly situated on the shore of beautiful Lake Nassar, in close proximity to the ancient temples. The well-appointed rooms feature a colorful hand-painted mural over the beds, and many have a balcony with a stunning lake view.The pools and pool area are a delight to the senses. The food is abundant and delicious. The management and staff are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel as a welcome respite for the weary traveler and/or as a relaxing getaway for anyone who enjoys quiet luxury in a peaceful setting.

The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, which made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The staff hospitality truly made the experience feel warm and personal.
