I had a great time at skylight hotel with ma family and the staff of the hotel they are so familiar starting from the get of hotel till the place we had our sandwich and coffee at beankaffa on the 1st floor with bartender wogayehu and the simile’s eyerusalem was perfect with there job thanks alot

I booked this spot because it was very affordable. Only upon arriving did I realize how huge and classy the place is. Was not expecting a big, sprawling executive style hotel. The place does have an air of faded glory from bygone times, but a very welcome stay. Rugs are worn, furniture in foyer a little beat up, but classy and comfortable throughout. Staff are fantastic, the grounds are enormous and lush, there are many places to sit and relax, and Ghion features a stunning restaurant. A massive, two-tier, round wooden building with a high, circular, peaked roof, in an elegant, sturdy Ethiopian traditional construction. Absolutely beautiful, with wonderful, authentic Ethiopian cuisine at an affordable cost. Wonderful. My only complaint is that, as an old guy with fading eyesight, rooms are dark! Even with all lights on, still tough to read anything, and it took some minutes to get water from the tub or sink to begin running warm. Still, and absolutely gorgeous site, well worth the very modest price. Will happily stay there again any time I return to Addis.
