In short, the rooms very old fashioned and poorly equipped. The owners gave very negative vibes. Appreciate, it is a 2 star hotel, but honestly it feels like a 1 star. We arrived at the hotel late and we appreciated that it was too late for anyone to greet us, however no one spoke to us or welcomed us or even explained anything to do with the hotel until the second day that we went into reception. At that time we were notified that the air conditioning was not included which came to us as a shock. We did pay for it however, the whole conversation was very unpleasant as it was not mentioned beforehand or again, no further explanation of the facilities. On our last day of the holiday, again we were met with a very rude response and after the checkout mentioning there are additional charges and taxes that need to be paid. When asked why that wasn’t mentioned before or asked for us to pay on the second day, the owner simply replied “everyone knows that”. We are very disappointed with the fact that over £200 came out of our budget for things that should be included in the hotel as it was in many places we have visited before or at least been notified of additional charges at the start of the stay. We were also asked to notify other guests of this, as the owner of the hotel very rudely asked us to. This has left us with a sour taste in our mouths, instead of a positive feeling which we always had after visiting our beloved Crete. There are definitely better places to stay in the area. Will not be coming back to this hotel.

Great location and spotlessly clean. Room large but bathroom needs updating or at least replace the shower curtain with a shower screen. Beds very comfortable with sheets and towels regularly changed. Some rooms had better views than others, ours faced another appartment block but we did enjoy the afternoon sun.

Most of this has been said before but this place is great, we had a top floor room in B block for 10 days on a self catering basis with Jet 2. We had a very late arrival and as expected the keys were on the counter in reception with a map showing where to go. The Aircon control was left in the room, which was a godsend, if you dont want to pay for Aircon (Euro8/day) hand it in the following day. The room was spacious with basic cooking equipment, kettle, toaster a sink and a fridge. Its a little short of drawer space but plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. there was a good size balcony with a table and couple of chairs. The beds were very comfortable with foam toppers. Everything was clean on arrival. Only negative about the room was the small bathroom, not in itself a problem but the toilet was set very close to the wall, rather to close for ease of use. Still it wasnt a big problem once you worked out how to deal with that. The pool areas are clean and there are plenty of sun loungers. Staff are really friendly and helpful especially the ladies on reception. The apart form the lack of drawers and the position of the toilet the only other negatives were the fact that on some days some of the towels and sheets had the odd small hole in them which I think should have been spotted and the item removed from use. Nisea beach bar just over the road has really good sunbeds, free if you eat/drink there and serves good food and excellent milkshakes. There is a nice bakery over the road and to the left for fresh bread, filled rolls, pies , cakes etc or a coffee and three supermarkets near by as well. Lots of restaurants around, try the Tomahawk stake at Romeos if you like a challenge. Bus to Chania Euro2 each way, bus stop just outside the apartment, try the Well of the Turk for something a little different to eat but get there early or book as its very popular. We took the 2 hour boat trip from Platannias harbour, booked on line through Destination Platannias out to the island and it was great fun with a couple of swim stops.

Just back from a 14 night stay at the hotel. Lovely clean comfortable rooms in a clean comfortable complex. Arriving late at night, our key was awaiting us at reception. The only small fault we felt was the small bathroom, the shower was really small but always hot water. We used the top pool and had several snacks from the bar, all tasty and ideal for a lunchtime snack. Ideally situated for a number of restaurants, we preferred the 6 to 7 restaurants up the hill from the service station. A lovely vibe about this area with superb food in each of the restaurants we tried. The bus stop to Chania is just outside the hotel, approx 20 mins and very cheap on a brilliant local bus service. All in all, a pleasant stay with loads of food and bars within walking distance. Also several local supermarkets for essentials. As we had a late flight, the hotel accommodated our request for keeping the room for a small charge. All in all, a lovely small clean basic hotel, ideal for couples and families holidaying in the area.

We stayed here for 10 nights in June. We were greeted by the pleasant staff with a fast efficient check in. The hotel room c9 We stayed in was spotless as was the rest of this little complex they call a village. A lovely deaf lady came to do the cleaning, sorry but I've forgot your name, she was always smiling and lovely. The apartments are idealy located just over the road from the beach ,and a taxi office, local bus stop just outside. The pool side food which we only had once at the pool at the back wasn't very tasty I'm afraid we had a toasted sandwich which was bland. There's plenty of lovely restaurants all round and food is great everywhere we went, prices all much the same, the downside to this part of crete however was the price of drinks. €5 for a large beer on draught or bottle of mythos at almost every bar they're not even a pint!. We can only assume that because lots of Scandinavian tourists holiday here that the locals price it high as they pay twice that in Scandinavian countries, indeed we had a day out 2 hours away and the price dropped to 3.00 for large drinks. Plantanias is beautiful, other than expensive drinks , yes I would visit again and definitely recommend these apartments 👌 our view in pic below from the balcony.

Great rooms, very clean, comfy beds. Great location, set back off the main road in beautiful grounds but within a stones throw of bars, restaurants, beach, bus stop to Chania old town. 2 fab pools which always had sunbeds available. Breakfast was nice and was served by Catherine, a beautiful person so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact all the staff we had contact with were lovely. Some great excursions, loads to see and do.
