We came home yesterday after a perfect 5 day stay for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, all of the staff are incredibly helpful and so friendly. We stayed in a junior beach front suite with private pool, with steps right down to the beach. The room was lovely and kept very clean, having our own pool made for such a relaxing experience. There’s a quiet private beach with plenty of sun beds too, as well as a large pool right by the bar which served great cocktails! Restaurant choice is very good and we had no issues with getting a table, we generally reserved the day before or on the morning of from the tablet in the room which made it really easy! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, we absolutely loved this beautiful hotel, thank you to all for making our honeymoon so special.

This resort is magnificent. From the time we were greeted by the Concierge and she showed us the facilities; to the time we left, we couldn’t want for anything. The service is bar none, the suites are beautiful, the beds are incredibly comfortable; and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurants is very fresh and delicious! We were so happy with our stay and are looking forward to our next trip.

We’ve just spent 5 days at this incredible hotel. We were welcomed with such friendly faces, which remained throughout our stay and throughout the hotel. The staff are all so helpful, you can really feel the fact it’s a family run hotel. As a family of 4 with 2 boys (12 & 8), we stayed in a 3 bed, peninsular collection suite with private pool. The accommodation was truly outstanding! The private pool was big enough to swim and play in, with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The water was filtered sea water, but the salt levels seemed so low it wasn’t an issue at all. The beds were so comfy and each room was very spacious. Our view was stunning and uninterrupted. There are 2 small private beach bays, with crystal clear water. It’s so safe to swim in the sea here. Definitely take a snorkel!! The shared pool is a decent size and freshwater rather than salt water. There is also a baby pool and whirlpool. We ate at Il Borros, but no other hotel restaurant during our stay, mainly because we really like Elounda itself which has way more options for….fussier children! Il Borros was very good! The service is a little slow, but this just meant we didn’t feel rushed, which made a lovely change and we found the service is more ‘relaxed’ wherever we went in Elounda. Take UNO and you’ll be grand! There are extra charges for things that we weren’t expecting. The water slides are only available as either part of the kids club or for private hire (€30 per hour, I think). The football court is also available but at €50 per hour we decided to take up the lesson with the Valencia coach instead, which was €30 per child. I’m not sure we would have the football lesson next time. We didn’t use the spa as we only had 4 days and wanted to make the most of the outdoor pools and beach. There is a boat that takes you to the other 2 hotels attached to this complex, which runs evenings only, is free and well worth a trip. It’s a unique way to arrive at any bar / restaurant :) We were there for May 1/2 term and it didn’t seem busy at all, having said that, our boys made plenty of friends to play beach footie with every day. Weather temps were perfect! Hot during the day, cooler evenings - take a light jumper. There are so many wonderful things to say about this hotel. We have already emailed reservations to rebook for 2025. We can’t wait to return!

I always jot down reviews at the time but I am a bit late putting on Trip Advisor. This was an excellent hotel. Very welcoming when we arrived with a glass of bubbles, which went down very well after a long journey. Reception was very friendly and so helpful showing us around the complex. We had a junior suite with pool beach villa. Our room was wonderful and situated in a great place looking out to the sea. I would definitely recommend this room. Lovely to have the pool to step into but also you can walk down a couple of steps and you are on the private hotel beach. Our villa was shady, which was good but if you did want to get in sun I bought a lilo and floated in the pool which was in the sun or you can go down to the many sunbeds dotted around. The breakfast room was wonderful and there was a beautiful view. There was a special touch with having Buck’s Fizz at breakfast as well. One evening there was a Greek night with dancers and musicians. They were all very good and there was a great atmosphere. The one thing I would say is we booked to go at 8 thinking it was like England and a couple of hours for table so the hot food had got a bit cold. You actually had the table for whole night, so we could have booked earlier. I went to the spa and had a fantastic massage. It is expensive but it is totally worth it. It is a fantastic venue with a great view. The town is less than 10 minutes up the road and a great place with lots of restaurants and shops. There are lots of other places in surrounding areas to explore. I would definitely recommend this place to stay and hopefully we will return again.

We were lucky enough to spend a wonderful week here last week. The location is superb and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff are so attentive and get to know within a few hours of your arrival. We have to mention Vasia and Manos in reception who were always willing to help in whatever way they could, Stavros at breakfast and in Il Borro, who was always there with a smile on his face and Oleksander on the beach who was really efficient and friendly. We had an amazing split level suite with our own pool and this really exceeded our expectations. The room was serviced twice a day and was immaculate. We ate in Il Borro twice which was delicious but the best meal was at the sister hotel, Elounda Mare, the Friday evening fish night, this is not to be missed. Fantastic! Breakfast was in a beautiful room overlooking Miabello Bay and was exactly how we like breakfast, quiet and civilised with an extensive menu. All in all we had the best time and can’t wait to come back.

Amazing location but the service was second to none. Beautifully appointed suites, great food and plentiful water/beachside lounge chairs and umbrellas. The staff made you feel that you were the only ones staying there. A great spa and short nine hole course - everything you can ask for from a great resort.

We stayed at the Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel. It was extremely disappointing. Our luggage was left on the first floor of the two floor suite, when the bedrooms are on the second floor. I guess the guests are required to take their bags to the second floor. The wifi did not work. The breakfast restaurant was boiling hot. It was very miserable eating there. The work out room is barely that. The bathrooms in our suites were not properly cleaned. Yes the umbrella are dangerous and guests injure themselves. The staff is overworked and unhappy. Four towels were left in a room for three people. If one wanted an extra towel, none were available. They do a great PR job with their internet promoter and PR staff, but that is all they do well. Shameful. My family and I have never been treated so poorly. All they care about is their money, and you must pay 100% upfront, non refundable before you even see your room. We learned that there are lots of great hotels in Elounda but the Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel, other than having a beautiful swim area, is in our opinion, not the Waterfront Jewel of Crete as advertised on their website

I am always reluctant to critique a resort or business, as I believe negative criticisms ought be addressed directly to the business itself. Yet when it comes to the Elounda Peninsula Resort, the problems are so intrinsic to their business model, so ingrained in their philosophy that I am left little choice. Additionally, the GM/ senior management of the resort never met with us. Yes the hotel is situated on a beautiful piece of property and yes there are several employees who go out of their way to make a guest feel at home. And yes, access to the sea is easy and well designed. BUT: 1. Upon entering the lobby, which lacks air conditioning and fans and was almost 90 degrees F or 32 degrees C, one is greeted with the request for passports and a credit card. Immediately the hotel charges one's credit card for the entire stay. No greeting as to how was your trip, no warmth, nothing but a transactional relationship.Never have we been greeted with the demand for payment in full, not a single hotel, not a single location anywhere in the world. 2. There is nno air conditioning in the breakfast restaurant-- nothing like eating breakfast while perspiring in 90 degree F 32 degree C temperature. There is not even a fan. All one wants to do is eat as fast as possible and exit for a more appealing location. 3. This is a family hotel and if one has small children, it may be a great place. If one is a couple or has older teenagers and seek quiet and relaxation, this is not the place. The web site leads one to infer that adults seeking rest can do so. 4. Those guests seeking quiet migrated to the periphery of the property. The wifi system did not work there. Hard to believe that a "5 star hotel" cannot get this right. Even in an area within our hotel room, the wifi was non-functional. 5. Even the mid management staff stated that ownership and senior management were aware of these problems, 6. Not a single employee recommended dining outside the hotel. The hotel pushes their own restaurants and their profit. Once one pushes for names outside the hotel, only then are some suggestions offered. 7. The minibar is empty. Not a single soft drink, container of pretzels, nuts etc-- nothing absolutely nothing. Yes there eas a bottle of wine and after a few days bottles of water placed. 8. The beach umbrellas are fenestrated and fixed to the ground and low lying. I was told that virtually every single guest, including my family, hits their heads against the umbrellas. A few guests have reportedly injured their foreheads. The umbrellas are reportedly designed to withstand the winds, but as other hotels in the area demonstrated, better designs which do not place a guest at risk exist. 9. While each guest is left a beach towel in their room, if one wants a second towel, they are told there is not a sufficient supply. As for more minor, less systemic issues: 1. The bathroom in our 2 floor suite was not clean. There was toothpaste adherent to the sink and hair in
