Naturhotel Wittelsbach

I visited Aichach to attend a family wedding at a nearby venue but wanted somewhere else quiet to stay to allow me to relax after the flight from London and train journey within Germany. I chose this hotel and it was even better than I expected. The location is very peaceful but not isolated. My room was spacious and comfortable but felt cosy and welcoming. The furnished terrace was a lovely place to relax after the journey with views over fields and some woods. T the hotel had thoughtfully proved two bottles of mineral water, one sparkling and one still. The shower worked very well as did the WiFi, and I think the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. I had originally planned to eat my evening meal at the adjoining restaurant but because I arrived rather late I was too tired and all I wanted was to rest. I passed through the restaurant (where reception was the evening I arrived), which was well attended and the food looked good. The staff were very friendly and efficient throughout. On the evening of arrival I was two hours later than expected because my trains had been late and I missed two connections, but the lady at reception waited for me to give me the keys to my room, and was very welcoming and helpful. Next morning she was there again to serve breakfast and patiently answered all my questions about the food on offer. Breakfast was excellent. I don't eat anything with added sugar so was delighted to find plenty of other options like a copious cheese and ham platter, boiled eggs, natural yoghurt and plenty of fresh fruit including some nice berries. All in all I really enjoyed my stay and I would love to return.
