The hotel is impeccable, situated on a hill with great views from the balcony. While it’s true that a section of the mountain trail isn’t going to kill anyone, it caused me to take a tumble every morning while descending the mountain… (because it rained every day during the days we were there) which directly affected the underwater activities. If you choose to live here and don’t drive and have to walk down the mountain and it rains, I recommend wearing a pair of super non-slip shoes.

We loved Sea Star Apartments. First and foremost, the view is incredible! Very generous and open balcony let us see most of the town and bay. So much bird life! We had cockatoos come for a visit one afternoon which delighted us all. The managers and receptionist were lovely. We had a few extra requests and they were very accommodating. Had a bit of a hiccough with our original airport transfer booking but Steve sorted it out for us right away. The beds and furniture were comfy and modern. The unit decor is a little outdated but was fine for us. The ensuite shower had some mould but otherwise the unit was clean and well kept. The hills are pretty intense but we are certainly fitter for it. My 70 year old mother and 9 year old daughter both coped. Overall was great value and we would stay here again.

Sea Star apartments have amazing ocean views. The driveway is steep and staff were there to meet our bus and take us to our rooms. The lovely lady who met us was friendly and helpful and answered all our questions and able to provide ideas for our stay. One of our bags had been left on the bus and she contacted the bus and arranged to have it dropped bag to us with no fuss. The apartments are older style meaning all the rooms are spacious, even the bathrooms. Everything was really clean. The kitchen has everything you would have at home and really great layout for easy use. The air conditioning is new and quiet. The furniture tasteful and comfortable. We used the beautiful edge less pool with spectacular views. This accomodation is close to town but the walk home is uphill. We found it easy to walk into town and to get a taxi or Uber home afterwards. Highly recommend staying here for couples or families.

Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while in Airlie Beach. Our apartment was next level with stunning views and everything we could have needed. It was spacious, clean and the pool was the icing on the cake. On a hill but sure a bit of walking never killed anyone! Definitely am going to book here again if we go to Airlie as we very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Star ＜3

Awesome view but of course that comes with a hill to walk up and down. I personally enjoy the challenge and there are always taxi's for a cost of around $8 from town. Although our room number 24 was dated and could do with a refurb it was comfortable and most importantly clean and suited us. The pool was refreshing after a walk with an infinity edge with beautiful views. Roof top spa was awesome to sit and watch the stars and would recommend. In my opinion management were a "non event" definitely not rude but came across a little "over it" Overall a very pleasant experience and I would stay again. Note - do yourself a favour and grab some take away from the indian at the bottom on the hill "Airlie tandoori" incredible food and they deliver.

View from apartments are awesome. Airlie is so beautiful. Walk into town, catch taxi back for $7. Except Saturday night. Near impossible to find a cab. Ended up walking the very steep hill back to sea star. I lived! Not bad for a 64 year old. The apartment…..comfy enough. Shower door covered in mould at the base. Toilets flooded occasionally, but they provide a plunger, so must be aware. Appliances are old and rusty. Oven door handle gets extremely hot. Bed was pretty old and lumpy. I saw a brush under bed from a previous guest. I vacuumed floor and it got dropped plastic bits. The wheels were falling apart. So……great location, clean enough, but everything is old. Would I stay again….yes But would prefer something in town due to the hill

What a view! We stayed at the Sea Star for two nights after sailing in the Whitsundays. The apartment was huge and equipped with everything your heart desires. The bed was great and the balcony overlooked the entirety of Airlie Beach Bay. A dream! The staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous. We really enjoyed our time there.
