We loved the space. It felt very comfortable. And Lilli was perfect, friendly, helpful, and with great advice. We felt at home. And the property was beautiful. Parking is convenient, near the street just inside the front gates, so it's protected but open.

We have had the pleasure of staying in many charming locations during our Tour de France, but Villa Amara may have topped them all. The location, attention to detail, decor, and overall quality of the space were complemented by the owner, who immediately made us feel as if she were an old friend. Stay a week, buy wine, cheese, and croissants in the market, and make yourself at home.

A gem of a place to stay. So conveniently situated – all Aix attractions are accessible on foot. Our suite, the Estivale, was spacious and impeccable. Beautifully decorated and intelligently arranged. You could comfortably live there. We were greeted so graciously and offered the guidance and advice that made our stay in the area that much more memorable. Aix is a great town for eating and shopping and culture of all sorts. We visited Saint Remy/Les Baux as well as Moustiers during our stay, and with our host’s guidance, discover the unexpected charms of Marseille.

Truly delighted with the elegance, comfort, and proximity of this place. Thank you very much for the feeling of true Provence. It was an experience to remember. I would definitely recommend Villa Amara to our friends. We would come back to Aix just to stay here again.

Short but lovely stay here in this beautiful, quiet, relaxing little paradise. We will definitely come back! Everything was perfect. Our stay allowed us to walk, explore and savor Aix! I look forward to returning soon and recommending the Villa to all of our friends.

It was our first father-daughter trip and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to make wonderful memories. The rooms are exceptionally well decorated and the breakfasts delicious! I look forward to coming back.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at Villa Amara and I wish we had stayed longer! Everything was perfect from the lovely grounds to the peaceful yet convenient location. Our room (actually a 2 room suite) was the perfect refuge from a long day of sightseeing. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom towels was very fluffy and warm ( especially when using the rooms heated towel rack). The mini kitchen was perfect for our stay, well stocked and very clean (as was our room and the entire inn). Lilli was a great hostess who provided us with plenty of local information, offered and made us dinner reservations and prepared us a wonderful breakfast. I can’t imagine spending our time in Aix anywhere else.

Lilli Engle is the best Hostess anyone could ever have and we've stayed in many parts of France and find Villa Amara to be the BEST. Best Rooms, Best Location, Best English and French speaking Concierge Hostess. We were so impressed with Lilli's recommendations for the best restaurants in Aix En Provence as well as tours around the area. Lilli makes the best breakfasts anywhere we stayed during the month of June in France and the swimming pool is outstanding as well as the entire Villa is so well kept. Lilli's famous husband is also such an amazing person and we can only say that you will not find a better more intimate, romantic, beautiful place to stay on your trip! Perfect comfort, perfect location, perfect hostess. I would return to Aix-en-Provence solely to stay in this lovely villa. Everything has been thought of, from the largest, fluffiest bath towels to gourmet tea. Only a moment to walk to the heart of Vieux Aix, but so serene that it is difficult to leave. Lilli is charming and a pleasure to know. She made a great effort to serve the items we like best for breakfast and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we could want. I mentioned a wish to try calissions and the next day there was a box of them in our room! I wish I could mention all the details that make this place so special, but can only say - just stay here. You will love it!
