The service from staff was excellent and very thoughtful. Food, although kaiseki, had interesting modern touches and was very good.
Pity it doesn’t have the onsen town feel of Shibu-Onsen and the like, but would recommend it for a few days stay. We’d likely return in future.

I am very satisfied with my stay this time. The hotel has been renovated and the room is large and comfortable. The hot springs and meals are also great! We went there when the leaves were just beginning to turn red, and the scenery was great.

宿泊予約の内容（食事）でトラブルがあり予約時に送られてきたスマホのメール添付の確認書を提示しても、新滝さんのCPで表示されている内容（異なる食事内容）を見てみろと言わんばかりに強い口調で伝えてきた。調べてもらえないかと依頼したが、それは客が行う事で新滝さんは行わないとの返答。プラス3,000円/人で対応するとのことで仕方なく了承したが、言い方や対応の仕方は客商売とは思えない振る舞いだと妻も感じた。食事時間になるまで待っていると別のスタッフが部屋に来られて予約時のメールと確認書を写真撮らせてほしいと言われ応じた。最初からこのような対応をしてもらえると気分を害する事はないのですが、最終的に予約サイトの表示に問題があり追加料金は不要と食事中に話しに来られた。予約サイトに間違いを伝え請求するとのことでしたが、客からの指摘は「とりあえず調べます」という対応をすると結果がどうであれ客は不満を持たないと思います。料理は非常に満足のいくものでしたし、温泉もしっかり楽しめる造りでした。しかし、残念でした。

流れのはやい川のほとりの宿なので夜は川の音が聞こえてくるのかな、と思っていましたが、外壁に面する窓が、2重ガラスになっており防音、防寒に気を配っている良い宿でした。
夕食の会場は屋外を約5分以上歩いた別館でした。宿に着き早々に温泉を楽しもうかと思いましたが、湯上りに外を歩くのもどうかと思い、入浴は食後にしました。
本館にも食事会場があったので、できれば屋外の移動は無いほうがよいと思いました。
