Popular Aizuwakamatsu 4-star Hotels

We visited Aizuwakamatsu at the national holiday weekend so there were limited options to us in this famous onsen town, Hagishiyama. We wanted a more modern hotel, and while the shots of the room look good on their website, the reality is that it is much smaller than I had expected. Though the room looked new, the bathroom was a disappointment, small and shabby. With two large beds in the room, that leaves little space for moving around. And they try hard to squeeze all essential items of an onsen hotel room into the smallest space possible, including placing the vanity unit in the living room opposite the sleeping platform, sharing space with a kettle and drinking water glasses. There is a shoe stand and a folding screen in-between the toilet and bathroom, which is hugely strange and inconvenient. Ours is a 12-tatami room, which I expect would be good for 3 people, but the reality is that it is so cramped that one would not want to spend much time in the room. Perhaps that’s the reason why the hotel provided a lot of public sitting areas. Yes, for guests to admire the magnificent view of the mountain stream, but also to stay out of the uncomfortable room. The room was a huge disappointment but there are some nice sides of the hotel. Dinner was really good; we had window seats facing the waterfall and the Aizu beef was very delicious. The public onsets, especially the outdoor ones, are nice, situated just next to the mountain stream. All in all, for the US680 I paid for three, it was not good value for money.

A hot spring hotel with a very high cost performance ratio. It is located halfway up the mountain. The scenery outside the window is very good. You can overlook the entire city while taking a bath. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the nearby bus station. There is also a free shuttle bus to and from the Aizuwakamatsu train station, but reservations must be made in advance and it is a fixed time period. The service is very good. I stayed for two days and needed to change a hotel on the third day. When I checked out of Onyado Toho, the front desk guy was very enthusiastic and asked their shuttle bus to take me to another hotel for free. It was super considerate. The breakfast and dinner were very rich and very fresh. The price was very cost-effective and the experience was great

I made a reservation with a high reputation. An old inn that seems to be in the mid Showa period when I ask. The sound like a dinosaur echoes from somewhere. It was an old elevator. The bath is cold until the open-air bath and zab～n! The dish is a little bit of a Japanese style dish set. Something is not enough but delicious. At night, the sound of the waterfall is so intense that the child cannot sleep. Also, the wall with the neighbor is thin and the sound of the toilet can be heard right next to it. Breakfast is also half Viking. I was calmly satisfied. It is a hotel that is working hard on the disadvantage in open-air baths and cooking. I think the customer service attitude is great.

別館「川音」のツインに宿泊しました。非常に良かったです。 雄大な景色を楽しみたい場合はこの「川音」が良いと思います。 泊まったツインは夫婦二人には充分に広かったです。 ◆良かった点 ビュッフェはお腹いっぱい食べられます。時間制ですが大人でも３ターンで満腹。 フロントやレストランから遠いですが館内は寒くありません ショップのお土産が充実しています。 部屋にある冷水ポットがありがたいです。部屋の近くに自販機もあって安心でした。 フロントで渡される紙で勘違いしやすいですがチェックアウトは「11時」が正解です 別館「川音」からは渓谷の眺めが雄大です。 鍵は回すタイプです。オートロックではありません ◆良くなかった点 個室露天に出る外のガラス戸がキュルキュル音化するので他の階の人にも 私たちの「出入り」もわかるほどです。他の階の音も丸聴こえでした。 あと部屋の各所に安普請がバレる部分があります。柱がズレていたり。 入口に近いトイレと風呂のドアが「ガタン」と音を立てて閉まるなど注意が必要。 床の間みたいな部分はきっと荷物置き場です…外国人にはイスになるのかな。 ◆ホテルの方に提案があるとすれば２点。 ・部屋着は作務衣の方が使いやすいと思います ・個室露天に出る引き戸に潤滑油を注してください

すごく癒やされる宿でした。 姉妹旅館の原瀧には毎年宿泊しておりましたが、個室食をとりたかったのでおすすめされた今昔亭にお邪魔したところこれもまた良かったので５月に続いてのリピートです。 食事は食べ切れない程の量でしたが、料理一つ一つ丁寧に作られているようで、いろんな味わいを堪能することができました。 接客も大変気持ち良く、贅沢な時間を過ごす事ができました。 露天風呂付きのお部屋に泊まったので大浴場には行きませんでしたが、満足なお風呂でした。 原瀧もリニューアルしたと従業員の方に教えて頂いたのでそちらにもまた伺いたいと思います。

You can enjoy your meal while talking with the friendly staff about local sake. The inn is 75 years old and has a lot of character. The toilets have been nicely renovated. If I had to say one thing, it's a bit cold as it is made of wood.

I was angry at the behavior of the female staff at breakfast. This hotel is buffet style, but the dining room is not large and it was crowded on weekdays. When I finished cooking and headed for my seat, a female staff with a tray in both hands came from the opposite direction. It is the width of the passage which is difficult to pass, but there is a space to avoid, so I thought that the female staff would avoid it. However, there was no sign of avoiding it at all, so I had to avoid it and secured the road. When I passed, I didn't say ”sorry” or ”thank you” or I didn't talk, and it was an attitude that was natural. It was a feeling that I was ruined by the feeling of other staff. I think the female staff of the otoko ** don't know their position or are not suitable for the service industry. I think if you give someone a way, even if you are not on work, you will be a thank you and a meeting. It is even more if you are in the customer service. Then, in order to avoid the time of the adjustment, we had a guide to finish the adjustment in advance, so we did so. But in fact, it should be only to return the key at check-out, but it was a meaningless situation that had to be lined up among the customers who were lined up to make adjustments, and what was the pre-adjustment for. I think it is necessary to locate a staff dedicated to the customer only for key return. The other dishes were delicious, the bath was good, and the staff thought it was better than before, but I felt bad because of only one female staff.

It was his birthday and one year old, so I decided to stay at the suite room Tori no Ma. First of all, matcha and Western-style service after completing the reception! There were other drinks such as coffee, so instead of going straight to the room, I relaxed a little while enjoying the waterfall that I could see from the inn. And the room was a very private space, spacious, beautiful and stylish. The guest room also had an open-air bath, so that was a deciding factor in choosing this inn. Although it was a weekday, there were quite a few people, and I felt that it was a popular inn. The dish I was looking forward to! It wasn't the color of the room, but I was able to relax without worrying about my surroundings in a private room. Speaking of Fukushima, Aizu's horsemeat sashimi! I thoroughly enjoyed this with local sake, and ended up ordering a lot of additional dishes. I think the appetizer had a lot of strange dishes. If you don't like to eat or have a lot of likes and dislikes, you may not be able to eat all of them. That's what I think. I really wanted to prepare a dessert plate for his birthday as a surprise, but I was told that such a service was not accepted, so I was disappointed. There was a whole cake service, but I wanted to enjoy the food at the inn, so I didn't want to leave it because I couldn't eat it all, so the dessert plate was good. It's not like we're responding to changes, but it seems like we're doing a set service within a set schedule. In the bath, you can relax while watching the waterfall and feeling the sound. The bath service was also substantial. Also, projection mapping was held, and I went to see it with excitement because I thought it was very rare.
