Stayed for a week early Dec 2024. We had a smooth check in around 23.00 but there was still hot food available. The room, 6138 was clean and modern with a lovely sea/mountain view on a clear day. Everything had a quality feel from the bed linen to the personal toiletries and the bed was comfortable, not the usual overly firm mattress. The hotel and grounds were immaculate, Staff worked hard to keep it that way so it would be difficult to name any individuals as outstanding because they were all a credit to the hotel. Food was hot, plentiful and varied. Drinks were a mixture of local and International brands and this is the first Turkish hotel I have stayed in that served a decent French brandy. We saw 3 shows, a live music band, Turkish dancers and a Magician and all were entertaining. Some of the facilities were closed, as was the beach bar on several days, because it was off season but the weather was far more pleasant that the UK. Outside the hotel there are some shops but the area is a bit 'run down'. If you walk to the main road, turn left and walk for a further 20 minutes there are lots of shops on either side of the main road offering the usual clothing and gifts. If i had to name some areas for improvement, we could not find a 'bean to cup' coffee machine in any of the bars and the gym was rather small and un-inviting but you could manage a basic workout if you feel the need to. We did not use any of the swimming pools or have children with us. This was our fourth Turkish holiday this year and overall we had a wonderful stay at the Melas. This is a good 5 star hotel and we will return.
