The reservations desk assistance was excellent. Dinner was not available. The rooms were very tiny. Good for one person, not two. Bathroom was accessible for two, only if one stood in the shower. There was no mini-ridge, I'm a diabetic and need to store my insulin. No USB recepticals.

Don’t let this place fool you with a know amazing lobby, it’s very tasteful ! Inviting! Let me tell you , the room which was sea view.. was shocking ! Small , ridiculously I mean tiny .. when showering it was impossible not to get the room wet though. We had luggage which we were stepping over to get ready ! 3 days of hell , After over seeing it , we pleaded with reception to move us as on top of that , there was noise from construction work going on from 6 a.m , even on the Sunday , they showed us a more spacious room , but insisted we pay another 90 pounds . 3 nights was our stay , we had already paid 480.00 ! We should have looked for an alternative accommodation near by as in the end me and my husband had fallen out . It was really that bad. The breakfast gang were amazing, looked fantastic, however we couldn’t take part as all the construction workers took over the small but nice little dinning area. Waste of money, I urge you never to stay here.

Loved everything about the place. Friendly check in - super clean room with views over the Fjord Breakfast was good, plentiful and healthy and the bar and lounge area was inviting and comfortable. Easy 30 min stroll to the airport, two mins to town centre, 30 mins to the Forest Lagoon. We will both be back and will stay here again

Just stepping through the door you can feel the ambience of this lovely, quirky hotel. The receptionist gave a friendly, warm welcome. Having booked with them directly there were no formalities and straight to the stunning room. We were also given good advice on where to get a late lunch. Early evening the Icelandic Negroni is highly recommended!

"How often does everything feel just perfect, not often! So we were in for a super treat when we chose Hotel Akureyri. Warm, authentic service, delicious cookies and hot drinks on returning from the incredible whale watching trips - PS - I cried see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat! Yep, everything, the rooms, the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast, the location & the quirkiness that made us smile - this was our idea of a perfectly formed boutique hotel in the snowy frontier town that is Akureyri. Please don't go - we want to keep it a secret & cannot wait to return!”

We have stayed at Hotel Akureyri four times and each time has been a wonderful experience. We love the trendy lobby, beautiful coffee table books and overall the design. Comfortable rooms that are smartly decorated. Great breakfast. Good location as it is few minutes walk from the city center.

Great little hotel. We had a suite and the extra space was v welcome. Cool pool table and bar. Breakfast was really very good and would highly recommend the cinnamon buns. Not sure how it will age but we had a lovely four days here. V good location.

Really convenient hotel- 3 minutes walk from town centre. Beautiful views across the fjord, really cosy lounge and friendly, welcoming staff. The breakfast is perfect- don’t miss the cinnamon buns. Only downside was the lack of storage space- we didn’t unpack our suitcase as there was nowhere to put our stuff. Otherwise such a great find.
