Sofitel Ras Al Khaimah Al Hamra Beach Resort

Review Unfortunately, my stay at Sofitel Ras Al Khaimah was a very disappointing experience. I stayed for three days expecting a relaxing holiday, but instead, I left feeling frustrated and exhausted. I have stayed at Sofitel Dubai before, and unfortunately, this property does not feel comparable to the Sofitel experience at all. The staff and management clearly need significant improvement. Several times I called for assistance and had to call three or more times because nobody answered. Even when I made requests, they were often delayed or simply not handled. One of the biggest issues was the lack of respect for privacy and poor housekeeping service. At 8:00 AM, staff knocked on my door and woke me up because they wanted to clean the room. However, when I actually requested the room to be cleaned, it was not done properly, and on several occasions I found that the room had still not been serviced. Basic bathroom amenities were also not consistently replenished, such as shower caps and cotton buds. I shouldn’t have to repeatedly call and ask for basic items, especially when the calls themselves were often unanswered. We also booked two additional rooms for my family. Due to an emergency, we requested a late check-out, but there was absolutely no flexibility or understanding from the management. We were travelling with children, yet our situation was not handled with any consideration. The electricity also kept cutting out repeatedly. On my first day, I even entered the bathroom with no electricity. This is simply unacceptable for a five-star hotel. The buggy service was another problem. We waited outside in the sun for more than 15 minutes, with no buggy arriving. We were told that the hotel was busy that day. If the hotel is busy, then additional staff and buggies should be provided. Guests should not have to deal with the consequences of poor planning. Breakfast was another major disappointment. The breakfast area is far too small and becomes extremely crowded. On the second day, we were actually asked to wait because there were no available tables. In my experience, I have never had to wait for a table at a hotel breakfast like this. The breakfast buffet also does not meet the standards I would expect from a five-star Sofitel. The same food was served every day with very little variety, and there were many items that I could not eat, with very few alternative options available. I would honestly rate the breakfast only 2/5. The service during breakfast was also disappointing. Guests were essentially expected to serve themselves, clear their own plates, and manage everything on their own. The staff were not attentive or helpful. My sister even asked for a takeaway cup so she could take her coffee with her after finishing breakfast, and the employee told her that takeaway cups were not available. This is something I have never experienced in other hotels. Check-out was another frustrating experience. We requested assistance with our luggage, but nobody came. We eventually had to make two trips ourselves to carry our belongings out. When we reached the entrance and asked for the car, the staff took the car to a different location and left us standing there with our luggage, forcing us to carry everything ourselves. This was honestly unbelievable and something we have never experienced at a hotel before. There were simply too many issues during a three-day stay, and many of them are basic standards that should never be compromised in a five-star property. I really hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the service, communication, housekeeping, guest privacy, flexibility, breakfast, transportation, and overall guest experience. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I would rate my overall stay 2/5.

The hotel is in a great location, and the overall place is really nice. However, the service could be improved. Whenever we requested something, it often took quite a while to get a response. The water supply was also limited, and the electricity kept cutting out every now and then. Overall, it was a nice stay, but there are definitely some areas that need improvement.

Nice resort with large swimming pools. The hotel provide golf buggies to get you around the resort. Kids splash park was a highlight.

Our stay at Sofitel Al Hamra Ras Al Khaimah was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The hotel itself is stunning, the rooms were luxurious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, and the pool area was simply amazing — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the outstanding staff. Every single team member was welcoming, attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel special throughout our stay. From the service to the facilities, everything exceeded our expectations. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had, and we cannot wait to come back again. Highly recommended!

Great hotel and a wonderful experience! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The service was far below expectations and did not match the standards the hotel claims. Simple requests took far too long to be handled.
