Nice helpful staff. very patient to my changing order. Parking in the hotel, grate location. Clean rooms, bathrooms. We booked 31 room half hour before arriving, and every thing was very good. I enjoy the stay

A lovely location. Right in the cloud forest, so it was good for getting to the local reserves etc. reception staff were helpful booking trips/tours. Our room was spacious, with a lovely view. It did feel chilly/damp at times, particularly the bathroom, but you are after all in a cloud/rain forest. Everything was very clean. I found the breakfasts to be very acceptable. A few choices served to you, so no delay at a buffet. The coffee was very good. Evening meals were also good, the portion sizes were quite big! Bar nice for a pre dinner drink, or nightcap. The staff in all areas were very helpful, cheerful & professional. I’d say the hotel felt it was caught in a bit of a time warp, but I mean that in a positive way!

Great hotel. In reception, there is a lost of around 25 tours and activities to do if you have free time, like ziplining, sloth sanctuary tours and hanging bridges tours. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in booking these tours. They are all written on a mini whiteboard with the prices and the times you can do them. At reception as well, I saw on their cameras what looked like people’s rooms.. when we went inside ours I couldn’t see any cameras but this was a little unsettling still. The rooms are fantastic; good bathroom, a safe and what are some of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in my life. Monteverde is up in the hills so it gets quite cold so we had around 3 duvets so we don’t get cold. No pool in the hotel which is a bit of a bummer, but you’re in the mountains so I wouldn’t expect any another hotel in Monteverde to have one. The food is adequate; breakfast is not the greatest, but lunch and dinner is a little better. The bar is also very good with very good service. You can get a taxi for around $13 into town (Santa Elena); the people at reception should be able to help you do this. This hotel is quite far from town which is annoying, however it is the closest hotel in Monteverde to the reserve, it is a 15 minute walk, and do be careful of cars. Overall, the Trapp Family Hotel is a very good hotel in Monteverde, and I had a great 3 days there.

Would recommend coming here, for a quick stop-off before heading further into the country, or an accommodation while visiting San Jose. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The surroundings of the property even make it feel like you are in the midst of the Costa Rican jungle while on the outskirts of the city! The rooms were simple but practical and the facilities (and the pool) were clean and well-managed. Overall, a reasonably priced place and good for what it is.

Lovely stay in this peaceful and comfortable hotel. Staying with friends and we all enjoyed the views location and great service. Food at breakfast and evening meal was all good. Reception staff very helpful and booked us trips,taxis and restaurant quickly and efficiently.

We stayed at Trapp Hotel shortly after arriving in Costa Rica and we enjoyed it so much, we stayed for 2 more nights before returning home! It's the ideal place to chill and relax. We loved the colonial style and the rooms are very spacious. Karin was a helpful and friendly host and did everything to make us feel welcome. The local junior staff were also very sweet and helpful. Thank you Karin for making us feel welcome!

The lodge is well situated near the cloud forest reserve. The staff are very pleasant and enjoy working there. This made for a lovely stay. The restaurant is very good. The room was nice and bathroom is modern. We had everything we needed and would return again. I would appreciate a coupe of more hangers in the room and a couple of flatter pillows. Otherwise it was perfect! The garden is lovely too!

We totally loved this place! Very very helpful staff who addressed every question we had and spent time to get in touch with our travel agent when there seemed to be a miscommunication with our activity bookings. Great restaurant with large bay windows right next to the national park. We did plenty of activities, night walk, guided forest walk, hanging bridges, zip line, butterfly room and the trapiche tour. Great location, great staff ! We say hi to the "brothers ":)
