The best thing about this hotel is Sinai! She checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. Professional and kind! The second best thing is the dining staff especially the maitre d’hotel whose name I forget. A true gentleman. We enjoyed a great meal every evening. The disappointment of Alassio is they have removed all of the free beaches except at the very far end of town across the bridge. This is terrible for families with low income who want to enjoy the sea. The cost of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella is €60 per day. It simply is outrageous. How has this been allowed? The sea should be for everyone!

We booked a 4 day coach trip to the Italian & French Riviera for the Nice Carnaval and Menton Lemon Festival. The accommodation however was at the Grand Hotel Mediterranee a 4* hotel. Accommodation itself was quite ok. Nice room with sea view. However the dinner experience was shocking. The organisation amongst the service staff was chaotic to the point they argued amongst each other. The food was served cold, with no sense of presentation. Quality & flavours of food was appalling. No choices for main course or vegetarians or if ppl don‘t eat for example seafood (cuttle fish was twice on the menu over period of 3 nights). Salad buffet had 4 different items and breakfast buffet did not even have one piece of fruit.

We just arrived in Grand Hotel Mediterranée. We paid for 2 rooms - 3 nights for a stay end of July / beginning of August € 1,758, close to EUR 600 per night for 2 rooms. The hotel is quite well placed close to the beach. However we were informed just after the reservation (I repeat, after the reservation, no indication of the extra charge before) that we would need to pay EUR 60 per day for an umbrella (meaning, if we would take 2 for 2 rooms EUR 360 for 3 days + EUR 75 for 3 days parking - total EUR 435), we know it is quite common in Italy but quite a surprise anyway. If it would be a real 4 stars hotel up to the standard, it would still be ok. However it is not a 4 stars hotel, there was one small bottle of water in the room (for 2, not so generous), no coffee machine (quite disappointing, as we asked we were told that only the superior rooms at the 5th floor have a coffee machine), nothing really special. Staff is however nice but the management should make a special effort to make this hotel a real 4 stars hotel.

I don't hold it against the staff, the only shining star of this old 4-star hotel in Alassio. Sympathy and courtesy that convinced me to avoid a totally negative review regarding the entire stay. There would be too many problems to describe that occurred in these 4 days of stay: from the gym not usable, from the spa under maintenance, from the beach accessible but with work in progress, to the time it took to clean the rooms. Spacious rooms but probably renovated 'some time ago', where the bathroom shows clear signs of the time that has passed and the guests who have stayed there. To make up for these inconveniences, I was offered the cost of the garage (sixty euros), a welcome but not dissuasive and above all motivated gesture: the parking was in fact the only extra service that did not cause problems. The room was 230, which for some reason turned into 30: perhaps a first clue? The area is magnificent and Alassio always has its charm, it is worth a visit. Be careful of the sky though, sometimes the stars...fall!

My reservation had been canceled. We found ourselves without a hotel. No understanding from the staff and no solution we were unable to judge the quality of the hotel. Location of this establishment was correct. No parking. Bad experience

An absolutely top hotel, right on the sea, only separated from the beach by a narrow one-way road. Perfect Bagno with a lovely restaurant right on the sandy beach. Price/performance ratio is very good. The service is excellent. Really recommended. Lots of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Grand Luxury in the beautiful, dated hotel. Spacious entrance with beautiful marble stairs and nice lounge with excellent bar. Excellent room with spacious box spring. Clean bed linen. Neat bathroom with rain shower, bidet, toilet and hairdryer. Spacious and clean bathroom linen. Extensive breakfast buffet with good service at the table. Dinner varied and well served. Very friendly and helpful staff.
