My family just stayed at Huttopia White Mountains in their winter chalets and we had an excellent time. I was a little nervous as I think the site being open in winter is still relatively new, and I couldn't find many reviews for it. If you want to be secluded in the woods and have access to winter activities this location is great. The chalet is very cozy and they provide everything you need. We were worried it might get cold but I was completely wrong. Single digit temps outside and inside was nice and toasty. Pros * There's only 10 chalets, so you won't see very many other people. We only saw other families in passing once or twice each day. * Self check-in, so you can arrive anytime after their check-in time. You receive an email about an hour before check-in time with details about how to access the chalet. * The people managing the property did a great job, the roads and paths were all plowed and well marked. There was a large storm one day and they were out clearing the path and parking lot every two hours or so. * The property is large enough that we didn't need to leave to have outdoor fun. We were able to snow shoe all over the property. There are hills so we were also able to go sledding. Loved seeing the frozen lake. * There's lots of activities nearby in North Conway, and other area ski resorts. Tubing was only about 20 minutes away. I had done a fair amount of research about activities and Huttopia provided a book of local places that included some things I wasn't aware of. Lots of skiing nearby. * They have fire places in the chalets and have wood available to purchase, that's close to the cabins. The wood is like what you would get at the grocery store, shrink wrapped and kiln dried. Cash only though. * You get a clearly marked parking space and your own designated cart and sled to bring things to your chalet. There was a lot of packed snow, so the sled was so helpful. * They give you a drying rack to hang your wet now gear by the fire, so you don't have to hang them all over the pace. There's also a plastic boot tray so your floors don't get wet. * They give you an outdoor fire pit with log seats right in front of the chalet. It was really cold and incredibly windy so we didn't get to use it but had the weather been a little more cooperative I would have loved it. Cons * The pillows are pretty thin. I would recommend bringing your own. * The heat works so well that, with heat rising, the upstairs was really warm. My kids slept in shorts without blankets. After a few days we worked out which thermostat controlled upstairs and what temp to set it at to make them more comfortable. My recommendation would be an hour before bedtime turn it way down. Staying here in the winter is essentially like renting a cabin AirBnB, without the ridiculous extra fees. We had a great time! I highly recommend it, and we will definitely be coming back.

Second time for us at huttopia. We love the place. The outdoor pool and the lake are awesome for kids and adults to swim. We loved the lake platform. The tents are well equipped. The food is great with food pizzas, crepes and smoothies. Perfectly located closed to amazing hikes.

Price gauging :(. We have gone every year since Huttopia opened. Our mom and son glamping trip. I sprang $400 for Lakefront for my son’s 14th bday. Imaging my surprise $406 later they now have “economic package”. no sheets or towels this summer for $400. Please!

We were booked for 4 nights, me, my husband and 2 small dogs. The sites are very close to each other, and the entire campground was filled with young families with children. It was like being at Disney Land- the site was lovely, but I was so stressed out we left after 2 nights and lost $800. The final straw was when I was walking my dogs and a small feral child on a bike was harassing my dog- I lost my cool and scolded him. Yuck- I really hate being that person, but it was necessary he was ill mannered! I never dreamed I would find this vacation stressful! Oh Lord! It made me cry. The kids were having a great time, but the screaming and screeching made my dogs bark- they would not settle down because the noise was constant, and it was really noisy! I wanted a quiet, peaceful vacation in the woods to unwind and relax- If you are looking for peace and quiet find a remote site- if you are looking to entertain little kids, this place will work well. If you don't mind feeling like you are in a city in the woods- this place is fine. I live in the country in New Hampshire, so I really wanted it to be at least as quiet as my home not Disney Land-like.

This review is all about value for money: whether or not what you see is what you get. North Conway and the White Mountain region have been part of our summer family getaway experiences for about a decade and we were very excited to get back after the 'Covi-pause Epoch' to visit some of our old haunts. The decision to ultimately book at Huttopia (as opposed to several B&B's that were in the mix) was based on the attraction of that promise of 'something different'. We're campers. More to the point glampers, and our previous visits to the area have been with our blinged-out pop-up trailer. So in discovering and researching Huttopia, the concept was very attractive. Now to begin with, I hold Huttopia in no way responsible for the weather. And frankly, bad weather doesn't much bother me/us. It's part of the experience and we're accustomed to rolling with the punches and being flexible in our plans. But... Upon arriving at our assigned unit - site #19 (Huttopia, unlike almost ALL other campgrounds, hotels etc., does NOT allow you to 'shop' for your site on any sort of map - you only choose the level of your accommodation and then one of the units at your choice selection is assigned to you.) - the entire front of the site property was flooded and impassable, forcing us to tip-toe around the edges of the site in order to access our 'Trappeur'. Worse, our firepit and bbq were sitting in this pool of water. Over the course of our stay, the firepit was unusable for 2 of the 3 nights and we had to wade in and dig out our bbq, moving it to our deck (and it fell apart as we did so, leaving us to repair it ourselves). I have nothing negative to say about the accommodations themselves. They are pretty much exactly as advertised: clean, fully kitted out for sleeping, basic eating, and toilet/shower. I've seen the complaints about the tight fit in the bathroom, the chilly nights, the dampness. We brought our own little heater that we use in our camper and, along with the provided fan, we were warm and dry, even cosy. And anyone who complains about having a full bathroom in their 'tent'... Well, go back to your hotels. This isn't and never was for you. Problems? We get it. Life ain't perfect. But it's all about what you do next. And AGAIN, value for money. With this kind of price point - 400$C+ / night - comes expectation. I'm going to say that again: Four Hundred Dollars per night. There is no way that this kind of flooding hasn't happened before and can be an unknown issue. And in that, there is little defence for Huttopia to not to have been on top of this. On the last day of our stay (?!?) , a young man came by with a stop-gap plan (ours, by the way...) to fill in the area in front of the site with wood chips, stone, and a makeshift deck of planking (that inevitably will just float away next time it rains...). As excited as we were on the way in to our adventure on the Friday, we were as dulled and convinced that

We had a really fantastic time here. We stayed in a two-bed chalet which had comfortable beds and pillows and all the facilities we needed to self cater plus a nice outdoor space. The lake was wonderful and we hired paddle boards and kayaks several times at reasonable prices. The pine forest setting is lovely and the site is well connected for all the attractions of New Hampshire. The Airstream does coffee, crepes and pizzas. Staff were helpful and able to advise on walks and things to do. Board games available to borrow. Easy to get from Boston, around 2 hours. A great place.

Experienced campers/glampers here. One time at Huttopia was enough for us! I’ll start with the pros: - The location was a great home-base to explore the area. Easy distance to swimming holes, hikes etc. - We had terrible rainy weather with torrential downpours. All this to say, the tent kept us very dry and withheld some crazy thunderstorms. The grounds were maintained to avoid big areas of mud and large puddles. Pool and reception areas were well maintained and stocked. Now to the cons: - We are happy and friendly people, and love interacting with other friendly people. We stayed a full week, and there was only one person on staff who ever greeted us with a smile or offered any friendly service. In fact, when asking for basic things like toilet paper or to refresh towels, the staff looked like they were bothered to be asked. And when asking to refresh towels throughout the week (which we only did twice) we were only given what they had on hand at the time, which was sometimes just 2 or 3 towels for a family of four. We felt like we were a bother to the staff. - In our opinion, one or two nights is fine, but a week is too long. Compared to other tented camping/glamping experiences, the tent was extremely cramped for a family of four with enough luggage for a week. - While we enjoyed the kitchenette, we were not provided grill accessories for cooking on the grill provided. We had one melted plastic spatula to flip burgers on the grill. We checked the amenities ahead of time and used their packing list. Grill accessories were not mentioned as a packing item. Also provide extra trash bags in the room since they want you to take out your trash nightly. - On our last night there was a large party next to us who ignored quiet hours and were partying until 1:30 am. When calling the reception number provided, no one answered and we were told by an automated message to use a phone at reception for an emergency. We personally asked them quiet down at 12:30, which lasted about 5 minutes until they went back to their loud ways. They then woke up at 6:30 and woke everyone up with loud laughing and talking. We have never stayed at a site that didn’t have someone on call it at reception if needed. - We love participating in nightly activities, but in our week stay they had the same flipping magician every other night. He was okay, but not worth seeing more than once. No bingo? Trivia? Games? Honestly, if we spent less money it wouldn’t have been an issue, but after spending $2k to stay a week, we were not happy with our noisy and unfriendly experience. A few freebies would have made it better experience. Small things like free coffee in the morning or nightly fire pit with free s’mores for kids. Tubes to use to float on the lake. We have loved our stays as similar campsites, but this one, in our opinion, not worth the money! Not with so many other amazing options in the area.

This is purely an Instagram opportunity. We were not comfortable at all in our stay. Freezing cold all night and your only heat source is a 30 minute timed heater. Don’t waste your money to stay here when you would experience the same thing in a normal tent in the woods. We felt the same as other guests about the staff demeanor. Not friendly at all. The stay was clean and the linens were comfy. I wouldn’t recommend staying here in the fall. Would maybe give it another try in a warmer month.
