The Crown Aldbourne

I chose to stay at The Crown as I am a fan of Band of Brothers and was keen to visit the places in Aldbourne linked with Easy Company's history here in the village. My room (Guth) was warm and comfy, and had all that I needed. It was nice to see a picture on the wall of Forrest Guth as well, so that I could read more about him - a great extra touch. All the staff were lovely and the food was absolutely gorgeous! Plenty of Easy Company pictures and memorabilia on display in Bar 101 off the side of the main bar, with some familiar faces of cast members and original Easy Company members included among them. Five stars from me for the team at The Crown, and if I come back to Aldbourne I would definitely stay here again

“Nice Pub, Unpleasant Accommodation” We stayed at the pub for one night. From the outside, it’s a traditional and pleasant-looking place, and the atmosphere in the bar was very enjoyable. The food and drink were good , and we had a lovely evening in that regard. Unfortunately, the accommodation left a lot to be desired. As we were shown to our room, the carpets on the landing and hallway were filthy, and the décor was tatty and worn. While the room itself was as clean as it could be, it was shabby and desperately in need of renovation. The so-called “king-size bed” was a king-size mattress awkwardly placed on a double divan base. Breakfast the next morning was another disappointment. We had to call into the kitchen to get someone’s attention, and when the coffee arrived, it was cold. The food was edible, but that’s about the best I can say for it. I would recommend this pub for its food and drinks, as the bar and dining experience was nice. However, the accommodation is substandard and certainly not worth the stay.

We met family here on Mothering Sunday. The pub was busy with a good atmosphere and the service was friendly. They had a set menu and we all had the slow cooked lamb for mains with various desserts. The food was excellent and reasonably priced at £26.95 for the 2 courses. We'd happily return.

We had a Valentines special evening, the service was excellent as soon as we walked through the door, the food was beautifully presented and was so tasty. The table was set up tastefully, just enough for a special meal not ott. Would recommend trying the restaurant if you haven't, you won't be disappointed.

We had an early family Christmas lunch and the food, drink and service were excellent. Our waitress was very helpful and made sure we got everything we needed. Thank you to everyone at The Crown for making our lunch so fantastic. I would recommend this pub to anyone.

Lovely staff and absolutely incredible food! 10/10 My work came here a second time for our Christmas do, we all loved the 101 Bar (private bar) and the food was unbelievably good. Thank you to Clare and Donna for the amazing service! I very highly recommend eating and staying here, a few of my colleagues stayed the night and said the rooms and room service was top notch
