Hinds Head

Nice pub with friendly staff in a good location. Meals in evening were average breakfast to be honest was poor. Had full English with cold baked beans and other elements were both not very hot and had probably been there since earlier in the morning. Room ok on the small side and when arrived was cold. You’d think as they know you are coming they would turn the radiator up to make the room warm and inviting. Windows externally could do with some new paintwork.

I am in love with the Hinds Head and can’t believe we have missed out on going there before. The food is amazing - it’s not only tasty but it is so well presented - best we have had. The team are friendly and professional. I totally love the decor, it makes me want to stay and take it all in. I’m sure every time you go you would notice something different. I cant wait to go back. Highly recommend.

We’ve eaten at The Hind’s Head several times, but today’s lunch for me was a great disappointment. I chose the chicken supreme which was described as “Chicken supreme GF 20.00 gremolata crumb, buttered new potatoes, peas, spinach & asparagus, chive crème fraîche sauce”. What arrived was a bowl full of peas, some tiny pieces of diced asparagus, about four leaves of spinach and a piece of chicken, with a side dish of roasted, heavily salted new potatoes. I do not like peas; I had imagined they would make up a small part of the dish, not that they would form the major part and taint everything else. I had to sift through the pea mountain to pick out the small bits of asparagus and spinach. The sauce appeared to be buried by peas so I barely tasted that, though what I did manage to taste was tasty. The chicken was well cooked and succulent. Maybe I should have requested no peas; had I done so, a very meagre bowl would have arrived! Had this been my first visit, I would not return. I’m not too sure that we’ll be back.

I eat at the Hinds Head regularly, today I tried the Vegetarian Sunday roast option which was absolutely fabulous. Normally I have either the beef or the lamb roast and i would highly recommend all the roasts. Luke and the kitchen staff provide excellent presented and very high quality food. The Hinds Head is a loverly place to eat, all the front of house staff managed by Frankie are all helpful and knowledgeable of all the menu.
