Headland Tropicana Resort

The room was newly renovated and clean. It had everything we needed for our 9 night stay. The outdoor pool was heated and not too cold which was awesome. The indoor pool came in handy on the days where it rained. The manager of the facility was friendly and helpful. One thing that stopped us giving 5 stars, and this is no fault of the establishment, was a large family group who were there for the duration of our stay. They were rather thoughtless when it came to noise levels (after 9pm) and sharing of the bbq facilities. We had to close our door to eliminate the noise so our daughter could sleep. Something to note, there isn’t much privacy as rooms overlook the common area and are quite low to the ground.

Stayed in unit 8. Apartment was clean and tidy. Our check in instructions were not very clear. It said that access to car park was in the next street. It's on a busy road and parking was hard to find. After finding parking, we got all our luggage and groceries out of car and crossed the busy road. The remote to the garage was on the kitchen counter, which you have to use to access the garage. Little did we know, is that the garage is in the same building with internal access. Unit 8 is on the ground floor and lots of foot traffic. The front facing patio and large windows had no blinds or dark curtains. One could see straight into the apartment when it's dark when you have a light on inside. I did notice that our apartment was the only one with this issue. This is the last time I book through AIRBNB as we had to pay a cleaning fee, yet had to make sure all rubbish was disposed of, and dishes to be cleaned and packed away, so no dishes were allowed in dishwasher. Upon leaving, we had to make sure the remote to the garage had to be left on kitchen counter. That meant that after packing the car, we had to return to apartment to leave the parking remote inside the building. We noticed that other tenants were allowed to use their key to open the garage door and drop key in drop box. My wife phoned the host to ask if we could do the same, as this would make our check out much easier, due to insufficient parking in front of resort. Jodie, the rude host, said no. My wife then said that it seemed a bit backward, that is when Jodie just hung up. The facility is well maintained and is in a very good location. The unit was neat and tidy just pity our short stay had potential to be a very good one.

this place is right across from the ocean and is just a 10 minute walk to a safe area to swim (lifeguards), pools are really lovely and clean they keep cool in the sun, the rooms have a great homey-feeling to them.

Lovely location and managers were lovely and helpful, kids enjoyed the pool. But the apartment was very old and tired. Nothing felt clean, we had to rewash any dishes that we wanted to use, the carpet and couches felt dirty. Beds were so uncomfortable. One thing I found strange is there was not a single hook or rail to hang towels etc.. in the bathroom? We ended up hanging towels over the door, on door handles etc.. very strange. As others have mentioned, there are no lifts to rooms, this didn’t bother us as we are fit and it was only three flights of stairs.
