We last stayed at this hotel exactly 30 years ago, and the interior has had a makeover, which some might find bizarre, and it's not the archetypal German country hotel these days. Time has also not been kind to the exterior , however the inside is spotless, comfortable and all mod-cons. The staff are very friendly, and cannot do enough for the guests. A little knowledge of German is useful, but they get by pretty well in English ! Breakfast was excellent, and we stayed for dinner one of our 3 nights. That was superb too, Unusually for Germany, there is Veggie available if that's your thing. Plenty of great walks close by, and about 30 mins from the Mosel towns of Bernkastel Kues and Trier if you need more action. At 800m asl it can get chilly at nights, even in high summer.
