Smashing stay at the Hallow & Crux, room was fabulous. Harry Potter themed but very subtlety done with a grown up feel. This is actually part of the Dirty Bottles hotel which perhaps should be a bit clearer online? Also, website could do with showing that breakfast is included in the price. Staff very friendly and helpful Food good pub grub. Decent sized breakfast Small suggestion perhaps a stand/shelf in the Chamber’s bathroom for a wash bag? Alnwick itself was great for food and shopping. Lots of independent shops perfect for Christmas presents all very friendly

We stayed for our 21st Wedding Anniversary in The Chamber Room. The room was fabulous and just what we had hoped for. Our evening meal was very tasty as was breakfast the next morning. We did have a few issues with our stay, however Daryl sorted everything direct with us and all was well in the end. There are only four rooms and they are all fantastic. We are staying at the sister hotel in January as well. Well worth a stay.

Lovely old atmospheric pub, great staff, friendly and efficient. We had steaks, cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious. Service was quick and very good value for the money. Looking for a cosy place, historical and great food in Alnwick, look no further.

Find for the third time in a row staff hurry to serve and run away too much, not asked if we wanted sauces, extra drinks etc and we ended up chasing the staff, asked for extra napkins and they were dumped on the table without a word. We come for the food which is excellent but sadly the staff again surly, hurrying you, hurrying food order and that’s a shame. Competition is fierce in Alnwick amble shilbottle and surly staff not doing any good. Girl at reception complaining to another how the phone had never stopped ringing and moaning about it, sorry I thought that was a good sign! We were served at the bar by a brilliant guy larger guy dark hair beard, chatty fun fast service and the best apart from chefs in the place. More of him is what you need! Asked if we could take desert home (cheesecake) told no sorry we don’t allow that….. WHY? We are locals not tourists and hoping you get your staff sorted before the next visit.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience - the food was tasty and the portion size was good. The staff were all young and were polite and attentive, I can't remember the last time I went to a pub and was waited on - it made a refreshing change. The ambience of the pub was charming. I could not praise this place enough - well done to everyone involved.
