Hotel Il Castagno

Hotel We booked two days in Ticino where the weather was much nicer than it was in the German part of Switzerland. We have never been in this valley and we liked it a lot. To find the hotel up the hill you have to drive a steep street with a lot of u-turns. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and refurbished. Everything is in good shape. It’s not a design hotel but it is nicely decorated and cozy. The breakfast was also rich and tasty. We liked the garden and we visited the Restaurant located in the Hotel. Restaurant For two nights we stayed in the Hotel where this Restaurant was located. The main room has an impressive ambiente with a lot of wood and decorated in traditional Ticinese style. The menu card is huge and the food was excellent. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We tried several meals including traditional Swiss food and also Pizza, desert, Wine. Everything was just perfect and not too expensive. We liked both evenings and we will come back for sure.

Sweet hosts make sweet stay! If you r willing to drive up the mountain above Lugano, through chestnut trees forest , then the road ends in Mugena. And the hotel Il Castagno is right in the midst of trees. The host sweetness and welcoming charm, is strikingly amazing. The hotel is like a comfortable home where you feel like staying. Quelques centaines de metres sur les hauteurs du lac de Lugano, la route s arrete a Mugena. L hotel Il castagno perché dans une foret de chataigners et de fougeres est un lieu delicieux. Son proprietaire a la douceur d' un ami qui vous reçoit chez lui. Et c est exquis!
