Hotel Antica Repubblica in Amalfi Center at 100mt from the Sea

This hotel was the best choice we could have done! The rooms and clean and very nice and cozy decorated and it was in the city centre close to the sea and close to restaurants and cafes. The owner was very friendly and gentle. We had a perfect communication! Thanks a lot!

This hotel is absolutely perfectly located right in the heart of Amalfi with access to everything! only a short walk to the port to access the rest of the coast. The beach is just down the hill. The main ***** of shopping is just out front! However, being set up a bit high you get to enjoy the view of the ***** without the noise of the *****! Rooms were clean and spacious! anything you asked for was brought to your room within 5 minutes: Christian was absolutely incredible! His level of hospitality was above and beyond! he helped us create our itinerary with perfect recommendations making this a trip of a life time, he was very attentive , responsive , and easy to communicate with. Christian, thank you so much for making this stay so incredible!

Hotel Antica Repubbica offers so many elements that make it a grand place...it is difficult to know where to begin. A large room, separate bathroom and shower (a large shower), lots of bathroom counter space, large bath towel, large hand towels, and not only a washcloth but also a large one! Add to these a simple to operate air conditioning unit, a wonderful desk with chair, refrigerator and freezer, large wardrobe with safe, and breakfast served on the rooftop with a glorious view of the cliffs and mountains.... Antica Repubbica is a great find. A 5-minute walk from the marina and SITA bus stop, depending on the density of the crowd around the pier and in Piazza del Duomo and its immediate environs, the hotel sits back off the high street so feels secluded but just down a staircase guests have the main street of Amalfi with all it offers. Next door to Antica Repubbica is Pasticceria Caffetteria Leone--a must-visit pasticceria--and a minute away going up the high street is Bar Della Valle, a ristorante with excellent food. Try their fresh-grilled vegetable plate, which includes eggplant, zucchini, sweet peppers, and mozzarella cheese. So fantastico I had lunch there twice. The aforementioned with a glass of Martini Bianco on ice made for a refreshing afternoon. Last but not least, Christian is welcoming, full of charm, and ready to offer suggestions and provide directions. I was originally booked for two nights but with his assistance was able to leave my previous stay in another city a day early and head to Amalfi, and I'm so grateful I did.

this is the an extreme case of bait and switch. i thought i was booking a room at the hotel but it turns out i booked at their apartment. The apartment is in a horrible part of almalfi, not close to anything of interest and a very undesirable location. unfortunately i prepaid my reservation or i would have never stayed here i could tell i wasnt the first to complain about this type of accommodations the woman who walked us here couldn't have been and nastier about it and told me to take it up with ******* or ********** do your homework

Great little hotel right in the heart of Amalfi. Run and owned by Christian, he works very hard to provide for your every need. They offer an amazing assortment of breakfast options on the rooftop patio each morning and Christian himself will make you a fresh cappuccino to start your day off right.

Ok, this hotel is tricky to rate, in one hand the location was great, right in the middle of the town, a short walk to the cathedral and beach, also the guy in the lobby was very helpful and the room was spacious and clean, we arrange to be picked up from and to the airport and it was fast and pleasant, ($120 each way for 2 people), but there are some issues to be aware of: the breakfast was just ok, the 2 ladies attending to it were very nice, but there’s not a lot of choices and some items like cold cuts, cheese and bread run out quickly and sometimes it is never replenish or not in time for you to enjoy it, the bathroom had a smell all the time, even though it was clean, still smelled like sewer, also the toilet seat wasn’t the right one for that toilet, all the jetted tubs you see in the pictures don’t work (at least mine didn’t) room “el conte” and according to what I was told non work. Also in the website pictures shows a small table and 2 chairs but there were not in the room. The bed was comfortable but they need new towels today!!! It will scratch your face… I’ve been in many hotels in Italy and in many cities in over 20 different countries, and let me tell you Italian hotels are weird, even the good ones…internet is ok about 70mbps. If I come back to Amalfi, I will consider this hotel again, but only because there’s not a lot of choices if you don’t want to spend $2000 usd per night and for the location.
