The Canal Inn is great. Would definitely come back. I'll be using for business trips in the future. Food is amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. Only thing was no iron for my shirt, but not a huge problem. Adequate bathroom and room refreshments.

great pizza on Thursdays (or burger) plus a pint of beer or cider for £11. Great good quality, welcome, customer service, portion size... Good real ale, onsite microbrewery. Desserts £7, we were full after pizza so didn;t need dessert. first Thursday visit - will be back. Have also eaten there other days, also excellent. Didn;t stay overnight so can't comment on rooms or breakfast. Bus or train (hourly) a short walk away .

After a days walking with friends, and pretty horrendous weather, we arrived at the Canal Inn for a welcome Christmas Meal. We all had a lovely time, the pub was warm and welcoming, the staff friendly and obliging, great food and ales.. A lovely end to the day.

Food was really nice. Atmosphere was a shame. Very loud pub with a lot of bad language. Not a nice place to eat with this in the background. Dogs are welcome which is great. All the food looked great. Staff were also good. The problem might just have been a one off.

When recently in the area on a long weekend we tried The Canal as it had been recommended. We were glad we did as the food and beer are great . I had a burger and wife had a chicken and leek pie.Both were delish. This and their own brewed ale pleased us a lot, so did the bill. And the pub has the cleanest loos I have ever seen in any pub anywhere!

We visited tonight. Absolutely superb service, from one of the staff members named Ryan. He went above and beyond for us and truly made us feel very comfortable. 5/5 service from him from the moment we walked in until we left! Thank you “The Canal Inn.”

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Disappointed and Not the best experience. Food pretty uninspiring, tasteless and pre heated. The outside tables were all dirty we used baby wipes to clean them. Don’t think we will be going back anytime soon.

Last minute booking, chosen for its location (20mins) from home ! Absolutely lovely stay, lovely and clean rooms and obviously new , lovely beer garden, lovely pub, lovely food (enormous fish portions) , lovely staff and to top it off lovely free full English breakfast. Will recommend and return.
