Hotel Bergidyll

What a bizarrely bad service there is in the bar/restaurant, I have rarely seen such rude and impolite people. Initially upon arrival I told the younger gentleman on the terrace that he should take it easy, we had time and it was clearly visible by the running around of both gentlemen that they were understaffed. However, the other gentleman had already managed to get into (unnecessary) discussions with PAYING guests on several occasions. He appeared drunk and was downright rude. Again, things can happen when you're understaffed, but this is just unacceptable. And then to top it all off, when paying, I get the same rude (drunk) man clearly frustrated because I don't know the table number, WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE.. and then say "thank you for nothing" when I don't tip after this bizarrely bad experience. You should be deeply ashamed, this is no service and actually calls for action towards this gentleman, you drag the entire image and experience of this location through the mud by being so rude.

Had a great stay! We were made to feel like part of the family! "Swani" and his team went out of their way to make us feel at home! Great accommodation, great food, great drinks (and some "springbokkie" specials thrown in!) This place is in a great location - close to both main lifts and the centre of town - highly recommended!

We stayed for 4 nights at Christmas time. Peter”Swany” the owner was so nice to us. The hotel and the restaurant are so cute. We felt at home. We are ate at the restaurant 4 times including our Christmas dinner. All our food was so good. We definitely will be back again. We loved the skiing and how close the lifts were. Daisy and Francisco took great care of us.

This was supposed to be a quiet stop over on our way to Susten pass. We were so pleasantly surprised with our stay. The staff (I think she was the owner) was so helpful in recommending restaurants in the area and sights to see that were off the beaten path. She even walked me to both of our rooms! We got two rooms and both were beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was sufficient, which we appreciated before hitting the road. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer, this place was so cute!

Very nice place, although there were some problems with the room. Good food and good wines, but I write this review to pay particular compliments to the maitre Rocco; Very good, very friendly and professional, it is really rare to find people so good at doing their job and rare to find experienced people, like him. I will probably return with my family and I also hope to find him again and to find the same environment.
