2-Star Hotels in Angra Do Heroismo

Location in heart of city can't be beat, at least not in mid price range: surrounded by shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff could not be nicer, always available and eager to help. A lady who works hard to keep breakfast food stocked, and there's a delicious cake/sweetbread on offer. Small but clean, efficient room, and I had a Juliet balcony overlooking Rua da Rosa; photo of town harbor as wall art. I had a nice sized bathroom and shower; a tripmate complained of a tiny, flooding shower, so maybe I was lucky. Would be nice to have a small area somewhere with a set of dumbbells just to keep in shape, especially with all the irresistible food around.

Even though the hotel is 2 stars there are basic standards that even a 2 star hotel should have. For example, the toilet brush was disgustingly rotten and dirty (it costs 2€ to buy a new one). The showers had curtains that were also dirty and sticked to the body when we were having a shower. We do understand that the bathroom is from the 60s but we believe that even a bathroom from the 60s can be improved with the time. There was a sock under the bed which implies that the bedroom wasn’t clean. The air conditioner was broken and in an island extremely humid and in the middle of the summer, this is not very nice. The paper cups in the bathroom, that even though we understand they are planet friendly, were disgusting and could be replaced by glass ones instead. The breakfast was extremely poor. The instant coffee was very bad, there wasn’t any fruit and if you’re a person that doesn’t eat bread or sugary cereal there wasn’t any other option available. It has indeed an amazing location, but since the island is so small, any other hotel will do. Nevertheless, if you like camping this hotel is perfect.

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable. We had to do in Laura during our stay that was adorable. They're looking to book you airport-Housing transfers if necessary with their provider, which is very practical. We rented the studio because we were a couple with a friend:very beautiful deco ,air conditioning in the room but it is a pity that there is no room in the living room because it is very hot. There was still a small ventilo for the living room. Bed and draps very comfortable. The housewife comes every day and is very Also sympathetic(she is taking care of breakfast. Some details:tapeboard that takes off in the room, paper wc is a bit red but frankly c is detail. at 10-15min from the center.No parking but we We always found place in the street. During my 2-week trip around Portugal, Quinta do Espirito Santo is the most favorite. It is not only just a place for a stay but a place providing an authentic experience with the stories of Terceira Island. I stayed 2 memorable days here with Francisco -the owner who is also a very knowledgeable history teacher and museum director, and his wife, just like one of their family members. The manor itself (including the hotel's main buildings, subordinate houses, and a lovely tropical garden) is a mirror of the island's background, speaking to the maritime history and the special geographical position of this island. All the furniture and decorations have their own stories and histories. The host couple is very friendly, helpful, and talkative, and we always had very interesting talks. The rooms are very clean and atmosphere. This is a unique oasis of Terceira and Azores which makes a trip very unusual.

This cabin is 2.2 mi (3.5 km) from Municipal Gardens and 2.2 mi (3.6 km) from Fortaleza de Sao Joao Batista.Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as bicycles to rent or take in the view from a terrace and a garden. The check-in was the most problematic part. I hadn't received any instructions from the host (also not in spamfolder) how to unlock the entry gate to the property. It was already getting dark and the host was also not reachable by telephone. Monica from Trip customer service eventually managed to forward the necessary entry codes to me (many thanks for the assistance!). ++ The room was spacious and convenient, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom and toilet were clean and there were enough towels. For those who like to watch TV: a huge flatscreen with plenty of channels. The shared patio with a little swimming pool is very nice with beautiful sea view. The property is quietly situated at a 15 minute walk from the centre of Angra. -- No written instructions (e.g. WiFi password) or general information (amenities) available. There are shared facilities in the property and the kitchen can be used for preparing meals (self catering). Although the reservation mentioned breakfast included, there was no fresh bread brought in. Not the end of the world but better not mention it as an option. Also unclear if items in refrigerator belong to other guests (self caterers) or are for general use so we didn't touch any. The host was not available by telephone for questions and also never responded to my initial calls on the day of check in. The room was in the basement and from time to time some smell from the sewer pipes lingers in the room.

Relatively small rooms where it can be a challenge to put away your luggage if on a long stay. Rooms by the road are noisy. Airco doesn’t work and it gets hot and humid on Terceira. Nice roof top bar but a few parasols for shade wouldn’t hurt. Good restaurant with a very sharply price menu of the day. Good location in the very center of Angra. Taxi stop right in front of the hotel.
