Wilks Metal Roofing & Renovations Travels all over the Maritime Provinces to work. We only had one week to find Lodging for our crew and ourselves. I spoke with Marc a few times to confirm our dates that we needed. He was patient and caring about our needs. Marc tried everything he can for us to stay for the 10 days. Unfortunately there were a few days that it was fully booked, so we found other lodging. He made sure the days that we switched Chalets I wasn't out until 3pm, he scheduled the new chalet to be cleaned as soon as the previous people where out. We never had any communication problems with Marc every time I left a message or he would get back to me in a timely manner. If you can't find anyone at the office, there is a number for you to call. We stayed about seven days in total.

The location is beautiful. The rest appears to be lacking or on the decline. No wifi in the chalets. No TV. No air conditioning. Fix those three issues and they might be able to get themselves back on the radar for modern vacationers. With temperatures on the rise, summers in Nova Scotia are and will be hotter. AC is becoming a must. Most vacationers consider broadband internet to be an equal to electricity. Not having strong WiFi acess in the Chalets is a ticket to a full pass-on-by. Television isn't as important but would be appreciated by those looking to fill times where outdoor conditions are unfavorable. They have canoes and kayaks available. Firepits and gas barbecues. A boardwalk stretching along a considerable length of the Mersey River with chairs and picnic tables thru out. These features make the outdoor experience very nice however the indoor needs help in the forms mentioned. We would certainly return if the accomodations are upgraded to current standards.

It truly is a magical place. The boardwalk that winds along the rushing river, surrounded by the lushness of nature, the refreshing water for swimming and kayaking along the peaceful end of the river, and the sounds of birdsong washed away the stress of city life in moments of arriving. The lodge room was modern, with all the amenities I needed. BBQs and a kitchen, picnic table…. It’s paradise and I am definitely coming back.

Top notch chalet, well equipped, large bathroom, super clean (i.e. new) in beautiful settings. Used it as a 'base' for a week to explore - day trips with car - surrounding areas of Nova Scotia. Staff was very courteous and helpful in providing suggestion of places to see. And the skies / stars in their area are spectacular. Loved it.

Our family of four stayed here for four nights. The property is beautiful and lovingly maintained. We enjoyed using the free kayaks and canoes on the lake and river. The location makes it easy to visit Keji, and there is a grocery store about 20 minutes away that is pretty well-stocked. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would love to come back. (You do need bug spray to avoid being carried away by mosquitoes, but that’s true of most places in the summer in North America.)
