Uga Ulagalla - Anuradhapura

This place is worth every penny! Paradise on earth with plenty of space and activities in a gorgeous setting. You've got free bikes that come with the room to explore the area which is surrounded by jungle, rice paddies and lakes. The food is delicious and the hosts are friendly and welcoming. Would strongly recommend!!

We had an amazing stay in Ulagalla. From the beautiful rooms with swimming pool, to the wonderful team and very tasty food. A shout out to the Kamatha dining experience (please don't have any lunch because it's a lot of food) and the scenic drive throught the village nearby. Thank you for having us!

I want to sincerely thank the Uga Ulagalla team, especially Ms. Yoshina and Ms. Nirmala, for arranging a lovely high-tea party to celebrate my father’s birthday. Everything went so smoothly, and it was done with such care and attention – far beyond what I expected. Since I’m in the UK, I couldn’t be there or look into every detail myself, but they took care of everything so beautifully. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm, and my family had a wonderful time. I’m truly grateful for the effort and love they put into making the day so special. Thank you again!

Back from Uga Ulagalla after yet another unforgettable stay. While every visit of our many visits has etched fond memories, we felt that the resort had subtly elevated its already impeccable standards. Much of this, we realised, stems from the remarkable team, led with confidence and humility by GM Dimuthu. From the seamless service to the genuine hospitality that enveloped us throughout our stay, Ulagalla was special. One of the aspects we noticed was the resort’s strides toward greater gender balance. It’s incredibly refreshing to be welcomed by smiling, attentive staff who consistently went above and beyond—not just as part of their job, but with a warmth that felt sincere and personal. And dressed elegantly, always in fresh attire. Front Office Manager Dilrukshi, whom we have fondly known from our past visits along with other heads of divisions, brought that signature Uga touch that defines a world class luxury resort. A pleasant surprise as we were about to leave was the handwritten note delivered in a sealed Uga envelope by Thilini in the restaurant, asking us to open it only after we leave. I enjoyed my stay at Ulagalla. It was close enough to see many of the cultural attractions of central Sri Lanka (Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya) but far enough away to be a peaceful retreat. I enjoyed the time in my villa and the monkey visitors putting on a show in the morning. I had one of the best deep tissue massages I've ever had with Dina at the spa and enjoyed learning about the local communities during my scenic drive excursion. I booked the Kamatha dinner experience one night and was served enough food for about 5 people :) All of it was wonderful and a great way to try many Sri Lankan specialties.
