Taru Villas Maia - Habarana

Everything was good , room are very beautiful.

Absolutely loved this luxury boutique hotel which has been cleverly designed to sit within the nature surrounding it whilst having minimal impact. The hotel is modern but has elements of traditional Sri Lankan deign at the same time. Rooms are spread out in 2 storey blocks connected by raised wooden walkways through the forest and paddy fields, giving you a real feeling of being immersed in nature and a feeling of serenity. Rooms are also cleverly designed to help you appreciate the nature, they are large featuring exposed brick, traditional Sri Lankan wood and floor to ceiling windows. The bathrooms are a showstopper with rain shower and raised sunken bath which deigned to feel like its outdoors. The rooms have a terrace which overlooks paddy fields or a jungle type wilderness. The restaurant is outdoors and the food is a wonderful mix of Sri Lankan and western. My favourite part of the hotel however is the stunning infinity pool which feels like its floating in the jungle and gets amazing sunsets. Service levels are extremely high. The staff couldn't do enough for us, even escorting us from the room to dinner with an umbrella! The location is ideal for Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock, Minneriya National Park and Dambulla.

We have stayed one night at this nature friendly hotel recently. That was our first experience of Taru properties and after this wonderful stay now we both love to explore more of Taru Properties. This hotel consist with unique architecture which was perfectly match with archeological background of the area. Foods are delicious and chef love to serve meals as per your request. Maia proudly have wonderful staff from top to bottom who wearing nice smile and reach with pure Sri Lankan hospitality. Sadly we had one night but sure we will make another visit near future. Special thanks goes to manager, assistant manager and team who have made our stay more remarkable.
