Nice hotel on a beautiful secluded ocean coast. Pretty spacious bungalow, clean enough. There is free wifi. Average breakfast: basic - free (pastries, cereals, fruits, coffee, tea) and paid eggs in different forms with sausage, bacon, etc. The hotel restaurant serves dinner. The beach is only suitable for snorkeling at high tide, as finely, a lot of coral and stones. And there are always waves of different intensities.
The Samoan Outrigger Hotel

Wonderful hotel, an old colonial house set in a garden on the outskirts of Apia (not really walking distance to town but an easy taxi ride), there are several types of room. Downstairs the rooms are modern and air-con, the advantage being they are cool, the disadvantage being that they lack character. Upstairs, however, the rooms are old style, fans rather than air-con (since they are not airtight...), delightful and with character, some with ensuite and (I think) some with shared facilities. If you stay upstairs remember that this is an old house and the floorboards creak...! In the garden there are fales, Samoan-style huts, all facilities shared, aimed more for backpackers. Generally, the place is well kept and clean, linen was changed regularly and both sheets and towels were in good condition and always smelt fresh. Our only complaint here was that the first day we had polyester sheets on the bed, which were very unpleasant, but we asked for cotton sheets and they were immediately replaced, so not really a complaint. The breakfasts are great, filling and different every day, and although there are no other meals offered, the kitchen (and the fridge) is available for guests to use, which is very useful if you're staying for a while (as we were, we were there for two weeks) and don't want to eat out every night. All in all, highly recommended, the staff are all, without exception, friendly, smiling and efficient and made our stay extra memorable. With an eye to some other reviews, remember that this is not a five star hotel, it is budget accommodation. Still, the range of rooms make it suitable for most guests, and particularly those staying for a while.
Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows

The hotel has a mixture of good and poor rooms, making it harder to appreciate the difference for the funds. My room was fine, after rejecting the minimalist first room offered. Food facilities at the hotel are limited, the choice is also limited and the quality at best variable. The front desk staff are a problem. They do not appear to be adequately trained and difficulties I encountered have still not been resolved months later. I recommend not giving the hotel a card to charge for incidentals but instead using cash which can be wthdrawn from the ATM machine at the hotel.

The facility was clean and modern, but the shower didn't drain fully leaving a slippery puddle away from the drain hole. Housekeeping wasn't consistent. On separate occasions the mirror was left wet, the bins unemptied, the towel unchanged and the bed not made up properly. The programmable safe didn't open once locked, and the key card had to be reprogrammed to give access to the room. Once, while resting in my room in the early afternoon, someone tried to enter my room but the latch stopped them. I quickly checked outside, thinking it might have been housekeeping, but no one was there except someone - a burly obese island man in singlet, shorts and jandals - walking quickly around the corner. I believe it was another guest who'd somehow gained access to electronic access cards, and who was raiding other guest's rooms. It was after that incident that my key card failed to work, and I had to visit reception to get it reprogrammed. The staff were generally courteous and kind, but really only going through the motions to fulfil their role. No one stood out as loving the work they do. The egg station couldn't make poached egg. That had to come from the kitchen, and they had to boil the water first and it was an inordinately long wait. In a previous visit to Samoa, at a hotel in Savai'i, the egg station had a pan with simmering water for poached eggs, and they delivered poached eggs as quickly as any other style of egg. I visited other hotels for events around Apia on this visit. I'm now open to staying at other hotels after this visit.
Taumeasina Island Resort

We stayed here at the end of our 8 day trip and all I can say was it was beautiful. Taumeasina was very busy (Mothers Day weekend) but that didn't stop the wonderful service we were welcomed with lei's and welcome drinks and escorted to our beautiful room (210) perfectly close but far enough away for some peace and quiet. I travelled with my Mother and 2 sisters and wished we had booked here first and stayed for a little bit longer. We also attended the FIA FIA night and that was such a good show and so fun. The only negative was not being having the best seat for FIA FIA night as we were located closer to the back and I think due yo the weather (rainging) they had set up under the shelter which from where we were seating was hard to see most of the show but from what we did see it was a beautiful show. We hope to be back again soon to enjoy the beautiful resort and its amenities. Fa'afitai lava
Ifiele'Ele Plantation

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Joan and Paul. The love they’ve put into this beautiful place is beyond me! Helpful, kind and so accommodating! We arrived late and Paul went out of his way to take us to get some snacks etc as we didn’t have time but he managed to assist us and went completely out of his way to do this. This place feels wholesome, homely, healthy, clean and kind all in one. Stunning to wake up to the beautiful sunset. Fresh clean sheets. Paul is an amazing cook, whatever you feel like he will whip it up and it’s always made with so much love! They have made our experience a beautiful one, I wish I stayed there for my whole two weeks because as soon as I stepped in the Tanoa, I regretted being there. I wish I got to say goodbye. I really hope I return with my husband and baby. Just so I can see Joan and Paul again. When I returned home, I showed family and friends their YouTube videos that I had just found myself and watching and learning so much for about the beautiful plantation… I just couldn’t help talk everyone’s ears off about the stay we had with them at beautiful Ifiele’ele Plantation. God bless you always x Bianca
