Stella Blue Seaside Resort

What a fantastic place, even at the end of the season when the staff are almost worn out and ready for a break they were still unbelievably helpful and friendly. We arrived around 2pm and were greeted by a very friendly face who booked us in and took us to our room, although the room was a little dated it was very clean, spacious, cool and had a great private balcony. The newly refurbished pool area was great, although we did not spend much time sitting around the pool it had plenty of loungers and seating areas around including little islands within the pool area with bean bags and loungers where you could while away the hours in comfort. The food was outstanding and there was always something to wet everyone's appetite whether it was traditional Greek or more Europeans tastes, there was also live entertainment in the evening around the pool bar Tuesday night was especially good with the South 3 Band, a trio who played a variety of covers. We booked an excursion with the reception for one day but I got the times mixed up and missed the coach, the receptionist was very very understanding a booked us on another one the following day without any extra costs or loss to us, we even had a small refund which we tried to leave as a tip but it was politely declined. Overall we could not recommend this place highly enough.

i stayed in this hotel with my friends. we had a good time together, the pools are wonderful, the rooms are a bit old style but there was a good cleaning service. the food was average quality but it wasn’t that bad. the snack bar is a good place to get some food when you can’t access to the restaurant and the pool bar has a nice team of guys that are very friendly and nice to meet. about the animation, in the hotel there’s an italian team of four guys and an international guy who is french. the italian guys were great, we had a good time with them cause they always came to call us for their activities like volleyball matches or ping pong matches, and also they were really friendly to us and i feel right to thank all of them for the hospitality, so i thank Pablo, Eric, Aurora and Suenia. i have to say that me and the others were actually disappointed that Sam (the french animator) was not available for us and he was barely there, we’ve only seen him few times and those times we’ve seen him in the bar preparing drinks for him with alcohol. in the end it was a good vacation so we are quite happy about it.

Excelent hotel. The best Staff strating in reception with Magda, barmans, Staff on restauration and hause keeping always helpfull and smile. The meals fantastic (tzatziki souse- incredible). Rooms tidy and clean. Location 🤩. The sea acros the road. The bar is open till 11pm. The most importent things is the beach is not big so there is silence and calm. Every evening we had atraction like musician. The views are incredible....

We arrived at 3am in the morning and the man at reception was very welcoming. He couldn't have done enough for us. He even went to the trouble of putting out cold plates of salad and meat for us, which I thought was amazing. It's the finer details that count. Our room was spotlessly clean and perfect for us. The room service was done to perfection everyday. Amazing room service staff. They even went to the trouble of laying my daughter and I's pyjamas in a pretty picture on our beds. The food was incredible, food to suit everyone's taste buds. The chefs cooked pancakes and fried eggs in the morning, fish, meat and pasta dishes for lunch and dinner out in front everyday, which seemed to be to everyone's liking. The restaurant floor staff were attentive and gave a warm welcome. The restaurant is run smoothly and to perfection. The animation team were incredible. Everyday there was entertainment from yoga, aqua aerobics, darts, waterpolo, kids club, mini disco and from 9.30 to 23.00 everynight there was entertainment for the adults. The greenery around the whole complex was breath taking. There were 2 pools with a snack bar and drinks at one and a bar at the other which was open from 10.00 till 18.00, there was ice-cream cones everyday at the snack bar also. We could eat and drink as much as we wanted. Overall I can't say enough about Europa beach Hotel, from start to finish it was an amazing place to stay. Absolutely 5 star from point of view. DRINKS!!! You won’t get drunk on the lager that’s for sure, I’ve had stronger shandy. Looks like lager smells like lager tastes like lager but there’s very little alcohol in it, I drank from 10am until 8pm ish and did not feel a thing so had to switch to cocktails (not my thing really), there were people mixing the lager with white wine which I didn’t spot until the last day. The resort is amazing for the money, it’s clean and peaceful the sound of the sea and the sea breeze are lovely. We arrived at 1am and Mike (not 100% sure of his name it was late and we were very tired) checked us in and even had some food waiting for us, a really nice touch and was needed after all the travelling, he was really friendly and helped us with our bags, one of the nicest check ins at a hotel we have had he really made us feel welcome. When we got to the room we had dressing gowns and slippers, a bottle of wine and a nice bowl of fresh fruit, we have stayed in places way more expensive than this and they didn’t have anything as nice as this. We was allocated room 154 which had a direct sea view and genuinely had a direct sea view, I loved relaxing on the bed with the balcony doors open just watching and listening to the sea. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful the cleaning crew are amazing and the food is outstanding for the money, there was always a wide selection of meats, Beef, Pork, Chicken, Lamb and sometimes Muscles or Squid. This is a bargain you won’t be able to beat (apart from the drinks). We have travelled around the world and for once we were both full at every mealtime which never ever happens, one of us usually struggles to find something worth eating and I have to say the deserts were lovely. There is a restaurant separate to the main building called Meltemi which your allowed one visit on your stay, the food again was excellent and the service from the two staff was outstanding, very relaxed and welcoming nothing was too much bother. This is a resort tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it’s peaceful! The nearest bus stop is half an hours walk uphill, if you’re coming to explore go elsewhere if you’re coming for a complete switch off this is the one. The bus is £2.40 to Heraklion or £35 to the airport in a taxi, aprox 25 mins. The mini market in the hotel is priced well and not much different to the bigger supermarkets in the area. The hotel is right on the seafront with a nice beach 10 seconds away. To get the bus you will need bus stop 16. If it wasn’t for the drinks in general this place would be a 10 out of 10, if you go on holiday to enjoy a beer or three and unwind, you will end up buying your own like I did, the nicest lager I could find was €1.40 and was 500ml and 5% abv. The gin I noticed was 30% that they served at the hotel bar so not full strength like we get in the Uk. A very nicely arranged location, close to the beach, friendly staff, good diversified food, as well as fruits and desserts, very tasty homemade pizza. The rooms are cleaned daily. It was a very successful vacation.
