Darna Village Beach Hotel

Upon arrival at this establishment, one of the owners realizd I spoke Hebrew with two bedouin guests who also spoke the language and live in my country. He came up to me and asked as he aggressively attached his face to mine: "what are you doing here?" before I could reply, he continued in English: "get out before I break your face." I left the place and advise anyone to take note that this establishment exhibits a violent attitude.

I'm really surprised to read negative reviews of Darna Divers - we've just come back from 2 weeks in Jordan and spent a few days with the guys at Darna and thought it was great. The hotel room was clean & air conditioned, although the water pressure in the shower wasn't top notch. The food was good, the Turkish coffee was better, the service was with a smile, the pool was in good use and there was a lovely relaxed vibe to the whole place. What really impressed us though, was the dive center. We went with our kids (10 & 13) neither of whom had dived before. We were guided on three fabulous dives, and our dive instructors couldn't have been more attentive, more professional and more willing to show us the best that the diving had to offer. We felt 100% looked after, and totally safe and could tell that they were absolutely "on it" the entire time. I'd definitely go back!

The place is great, nice location at the beach. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast, with home made hummus and fresh veggies. We did a diving trip with them as well and I totally recommend that!

Peaceful, friendly and accommodating in every way, this charming family-run hotel is a natural choice on this stretch of coast. You don’t need to be a diver (we’re not) to find this to be the perfect base for the Aqaba coast. Rooms are very simple, but it’s the attractively decorated pool area and high-quality restaurant that make this a very comfortable holiday destination. The magnificent terrace above the pool offers views across four countries. The kitchen offers a large menu, all home-made and at excellent quality, certainly some of the best food we’ve enjoyed in Jordan. The location is perfect for snorkelling (the world-class Japanese Garden is a one-minute walk and 30-second swim away from the hotel doors). We enjoyed our guided snorkel (15JD). The public beach is on the doorstep and Bernice Beach club is also a short walk away. The staff are industrious, working all hours to keep this place running and their guests happy. All in all, a great value place to stay on the Red Sea coast.

It was my first stay at Darna which I really enjoyed. Definitely coming back here when I’m in Jordan. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. You get kind of a homey feeling staying here. So if you are looking for a more personal stay, this is the place. It’s even right across the beach and they have their own diving center with very competent personal. The dive was a great experience and I’d like to come back for a longer stay to get a diving certificate.

My second time staying here and the Darna Dive boys could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. This is the perfect place to relax, swim and dive/snorkel in Aqaba. Easy access to the beach and a pool to lounge by. Great big breakfasts and food throughout the day you can order to your sun lounger. Also pretty stable wifi so I was able to work right next to the pool. The friendly staff made our stay easy and fun - so thank you.
