Rooms are more than adequate, clean and comfortable but the staff are above expectations. Staff at this lodge were most accommodating and were happy to help with all our requests. Nothing was to much trouble. The bar manager Donald was quiet and unassuming but attended to our needs in a friendly and accomodating manner. Could not ask for more. Breakfast was great, order the night before and all is well. Everything you could wish for. If we are ever back this way we will definitely stay again.

Me and my daughter stayed at the gun lodge ..Nice rooms a bit dated but clean, food was lovely,friendly staff.it has a connection to fort George which is just down the road..the fort is still active and has great views.it has disabled buggies to use if you need one as there is a lot of walking..it is free but please have cash to give a donation,it well worth it as they dont have a tap bank card machine for donations .there is cafe and toilets..all well recommended..

I stopped by for a coffee while visiting places around the area and met the two loveliest owners ever. We had a great conversation and they did make my day with their Scottish hospitality and personality! The coffee they served me was great and I was also able to use their wi-fi. I'd strongly advise stopping by if you're exploring the area.

If you want character, comfort, and friendliness, this is your place. Very helpful owners. I felt like I was back in time in an old inn. There's a bar and restaurant downstairs, and you can eat outside too; they will accommodate you and help you with your wishes. I slept so well there. Nice large room and sweet bathroom too. Darling village and only 3 miles to the airport. You can walk over to the water easily. Awesome stay. The pictures don't tell the whole story. It is quaint and darling. Don't hesitate to book!!!!!

This was a sad little motel. Had we not stayed with friends. I would have left immediately. I gagged when I used the towels. I found black mold throughout my room. It was put together with furniture found on side of road. Carpet was moist. Spiders and webs were Found. Good was not good. Grease used for frying was old and past it. We were not robbed and I didn’t get sick. Other than that, it was awful. The room smelled too.

Room was nice, couldn`t have a shower in morning as electricity went off upstairs. ( no apology) Arrived back to hotel at 8-50pm on SATURDAY night to be told the bar closed at 9-00pm WHAT!!!! Definitely a one off stay. Nearly forgot! You can`t fill the kettle in the minute sink..

We enjoyed our overnight stay at The Gun Lodge. Quiet, clean and accommodating. Our room was spacious. We slept with the windows open and we not disturbed by outside noises. Breakfast was excellent and the staff pleasant.

We stayed at the Gun Lodge Hotel the night before flying out of Inverness. What a great find! Completely convenient to the airport, charming, a little quirky even. Our rooms were a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. The young man at the front desk was also tending bar and taking dinner reservations so he was stretched a bit thin, but he was still very welcoming and showed us to our rooms. Dinner was delicious and breakfast (included) was good as well. We got a good night's sleep and didn't have to deal with any Inverness traffic on the way to the airport the next day. I would definitely return if I needed a place to stay in the area for a night.

My family enjoyed a delightful dinner this evening in the Gun Lodge dining room. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and the food arrived promptly and piping hot from the kitchen. The hotel is steeped in local history and has a welcoming atmosphere.
