A good hotel with history. The location is in a small town, equidistant from the main points (Como and Menaggio). For us, this was the best solution, as we traveled by car in both directions. There are two of the most popular villas within a 15-minute drive and a ferry to Bellagio and Varena. It is also convenient if you do not want to go there by car. All the sights in these small towns are within walking distance.
The hotel has excellent service (they speak English very well). The rooms are clean and spacious, we were upgraded.
Minus - breakfasts. They are expensive (although by Como standards, probably normal). But they are very meager and not tasty. There are fruits; boiled eggs and omelette, yogurts and cereals, tea, coffee. They bake pancakes (rubber) and waffles (with large pieces of sugar) - we saw one pancake and half a waffle) No vegetables, no desserts, ham 1 type, cheese - two types and well, just not Italian. Very poor for a buffet. But there are not many rooms in the hotel, perhaps it is easier to make breakfasts a la carte, so that it is tasty and not expensive for the hotel.
Overall, we were very pleased with the choice.
