If you want a local African experience, I encourage you to visit the Giraffe Lodge. The road is a bit rough there as with many roads in Africa, but once there you find a quaint lodge with a friendly staff. Romwald the manager picked us up at the airport along with chef Radjabu. Grace and Getrude met us there and provided us with a fresh fruit and avocado drink that was delicious. They quickly became our family. They drove us to town daily and made us some amazing meals at night. The chicken is superb as are the ribs. The rice is so good- nothing like the rice I’ve ever eaten before. Rooms are modest but beds are so comfortable. We really bonded with the staff and they will always be a part of our fond memories of Tanzania. If you are looking for the Hilton, don’t come here. But if you want a true authentic African experience, visit the Giraffe Lodge in Arusha.

Arusha Giraffe Lodge is always a friendly experience. I have stayed there several times. The Management and staff are very helpful and accommodating. The price is reasonable and the food is great. I always stay at the Lodge when I am in Arusha and have recommended it to my Canadian friends who travel to Tanzania

My friend and I enjoyed staying at Arusha Giraffe Lodge. Food was excellent, great chef. Manager and staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with comfortable beds with mosquito nets. It is a bit outside, but set within an autentic and safe local neighbourhood and the manager gladly picks you up and drops you off to town, bus station, airport etc... good value for money plus a chance to see a bit more local life if wanted. (A special thanks to the manager and kitchen from the "blue room"girls )

Had the pleasure to stay at Arusha Giraffe Lodge during our vacation in Tanzania. The manager Mr. Msuya along with Rajabu, Glory and Joice who did everything to help us out. Delicious food, nice roomservice, great location a bit away from the city center with the sounds from the animals and nature. It's easy to grab a daladala (only 500 shilling per person) and you'll find yourself downtown. Otherwise the lodge also provides help driving you around for a very reasonable price. The AC didn't work in our first room but the new room had a nice working AC and with a better mosquito net too. The floor in the bathroom can get super slippery after showering but we got small towels to provide it. This lodge is very price worthy indeed, the staff are amazing and I feel this is definitely a place I'd return to! Thanks to Rajabu for the delicious food, to Glory for everything and to Joice for your wonderful smile. A special thanks to Mr. Msuya for making us feel so comfortable, for your hospitality and teaching me swahili!

If you want a quiet hotel with excellent hospitality, this is the place. You are welcomed with a hot towel and fruit juice, the rooms are spacious with great hot shower. The breakfast is amazing. Also there is a bar and an excellent dinner.

After our flight into Arusha, we were collected by Thomas, our Maasai safari guide/driver who safely took us to this little venue. We were welcomed with open arms, friendly smiles, hot towels and a super cold fruit juice drink for the 3 of us - which was much appreciated! Asante Sana 🙏 Our room was comfortable, not overly big, but it had the necessities. The bed too was comfortable compete with mosquito net, the shower was powerful and the bathroom was clean complete with a couple of nice big towels. BUT please be aware that the floor gets wet while the shower is in use and therefore gets very slippery!! I will say, do please provide plugs for the basins! as there is a huge amount of water being wasted by not having these attached to one of the taps with a small chain or a cord. Rummel, Too(Teo?) and Mariam were very helpful and worked hard to make our stay an enjoyable one - Naiman do please thank them again from us. Rummel took us to the airport in good time for our flight to Zanzibar with all good wishes 🙏

Abbiamo trascorso in questo piccolo lodge, sito in zona aeroporto, una notte prima del nostro safari nei più importanti parchi della Tanzania. Nonostante avessi sbagliato la data di prenotazione, siamo stati accolti senza problemi. La camera è piccola ma accogliente, ottima la cena; andrebbe migliorata la connessione wi-fi.
