足利市内在住の知人と飲食するので投宿しました。 本来ならばJR足利駅至近のルートイン希望でしたがコロナ患者の療養施設になってて予約不可でした。 喫煙可のツインルームを予約しましたがビジネスホテルなので狭く、荷物を置くと足の踏み場が無くなります。wifiが届かないとフロントに伝えるとルーターを貸してくれて事無きを得ました。 GW直前でしたが客室はほぼ満室、アジア系宿泊客が多くフロント前のソファーは彼らで占有されてるような状態でした。 知人とはJR足利駅近くの飲食店に行きましたがタクシー代が片道２千円弱かかったので不経済でした（駅方面への送迎バスがあれば良いと感じました） 翌朝、１Fにある大浴場に行ってみましたが大浴場というよりは中浴場という広さで洗い場もたくさん無いので寛げるような雰囲気ではありませんでした。 無料の朝食はメニュー数もそこそこあり味付けも合格点です。 宿泊客は前述のインバウンド観光客と近隣で働く作業員を多々目にしました。 近隣に目ぼしい飲食店が無いので飲酒をともなう食事だと交通費がかさむのがつらいホテルでした。

It’s very convenient to travel from Tokyo. It’s a 20-meter walk from Ashikaga Station. However, the windows of the room cannot be opened and it is almost suffocated. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the door can only be closed for washing. I was getting dizzy after taking a bath. The breakfast was Japanese style and acceptable. It was not bad when I came from a business trip. The English at the front desk is worrying!

A lush and quiet environment behind the Ashikaga Park.

It is a trip to visit the grave of your ancestors. It feels good to see the planting of Bannaji Temple (Bannaji) related to Mr. Ashikaga from the breakfast venue of the hotel and the autumn leaves. With polite customer service, even a woman can stay with peace of mind. When I come to Ashikaga again, I want to take care of ”Wakasa San”.
