My wife and I have been coming to Red Lodge in the summertime for the past 5 years. We love it. Great scenic and quiet location, comfortable cosy and clean cabins, the lake is so nice, beautiful sunsets; it’s a great place to spend time at, and as a base for exploring the island.

We enjoyed a superb dinner at the resort's restaurant. Everything was excellent, from the starters and mains to the sweet endings. It was an amazing experience of their highly recommended French cuisine. The food was prepared by a master of his craft—delicious, beautifully arranged, and served in perfectly sized portions. I can't wait to visit the restaurant again and look forward to tasting new culinary creations by its exceptional chef. In addition, the owner and the waitress were very pleasant and professional, making the whole experience memorable. Estera L.

We stayed for two nights in the Hitchin' Post cottage which was nestled in the trees with views over the lake. The cottage was very pleasant to stay in, measured about 360 square feet and was well supplied with equipment but not with personal supplies. it was quiet and relaxing. The early mornings were chilly but an excellent fan heater soon warmed thing up. There was a shower but no tub, and no TV or internet. There is next to no illumination in the grounds which is wonderful for star watching but not so good for finding your way home on foot. Bring a flashlight. We dined at the in-house rustic restaurant both nights. The menu is enticing but the cooking is rather bland. The main courses are much too large and we negotiated smaller platters on the second night. Nevertheless, a major reason for choosing the Red Lodge was that it had a restaurant and we certainly didn't regret it. All the staff members that we met were a joy to talk to and were eager to make our visit a pleasant one.

Lodge is beautiful views on outside. Restaurant was very low end both service and food. Menu sounds terrific but was so bland we were all adding salt. No flavor at all. 5 of us had 5 different dishes. Creamy Garlic mash was flattened potatoes, no garlic, no cream just lumpy and bland. Lamb was lovely and tender but tasteless. Fish overcooked. One person like their chicken but all accompaniments tasteless. Roast potatoes rock hard and overcooked. Service felt like a diner. Sorry but not fine dining and never again.

We stayed in "Harbourview" cabin for 2 nights and "Motel #5" for 3 nights. Both were clean, comfortable and functional and just a few steps from the lake and lodge. The lake was cool and clear and we swam daily. We took some day trips to Little Current, M'Chigeeng, and Cup and Saucer hiking trail - all within 15-20 minute drives. Jean and Janet (and everyone) were great hosts but the dinners were the highlight of our trip. The wine list was good but the food was excellent and looked and tasted as it was prepared by an experienced chef - which we were not expecting at a small resort on the island. It was a bit of a hike to get there but well worth it and can't wait to go back next summer or perhaps even in the spring or fall.

My father and I had the pleasure of staying at Red Lodge on our way to South Baynouth, On. Everything about Red Lodge was "spot on". Our room was super clean and well appointed. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The grounds and buildings are well kept. The setting is spectacular with beautiful views of Manitou Lake (largest freshwater lake on the largest freshwater island in the world). Entire staff was very friendly and wonderful.

Red Lodge Resort is a little slice of heaven on Lake Manitou. I stayed in one of their private cabins and it was lovely. The entire resort is clean and well cared for. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. Great service and gorgeous views!!
