Hotel Pax

Hotel Pax is absolutely lovely. This begins when you walk in the door and you are welcomed by Grace or Eduardo. We felt instantly at home and even had help with parking. What a gift to be able to park a car easily and safely in this busy town. The hotel is clean, quiet, and sufficient for a traveller’s needs. If you stay it is also recommended that you eat at their restaurant. It is excellent. Reasonable prices, much help with tourist information for Assisi and we would love to return.

Family owned - Antonio and his son and daughter are now friends. I have stayed here 3 times and love the location. It’s old and charming. Breakfast is perfect. I look forward to returning in the spring.

Very nice family-ran hotel in the city center, close to everything. Nice traditional style breakfast: salami, crescent rolls, home-baked cake, eggs, cheeses, juices, cereal, etc. Close to many attractions—Saint Francis attractions and the young beatified “Internet Saint.” Well kept. Run by kind people who really care. Beautiful room. Glad we stayed there.

Every wonderful thing you read in these reviews is true! This beautiful hotel was able to accommodate a class trip with 23 teenagers and 6 adults. We were all enchanted, even the students! Since our bus couldn’t drive into the town proper, Antonio and his son met us at the parking area and walked us to the hotel. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and unique - rooms for one, two, three, and more. A couple of our girls had the room with the shuttered window out to the street - it was like a setting for a Disney princess movie- pure romance, if that’s your interest. It is an incredibly old building and I assumed that would mean a ‘less than comfortable’ shower. Wrong, it was hot and perfect. The breakfast room is spacious and well served, and their restaurant around the corner is the same and more- delicious food and marvelous people caring for your needs. I also assumed the rooms wouldn’t be tended to, we were there just two days, but again, we came back from a day of discovery to our rooms straightened and comfortable. If you are traveling with a group, I would highly recommend Hotel Pax. If you’re coming to experience Francis’ life, you’re tucked around the corner from his birthplace and near the bishop’s residence where he handed over his clothing. The church there also holds the body of Carlos Ascuti. Antonio will be happy to point you in the right direction.

This small hotel is charming & inviting. Even though this building is over 600 years old, it has been updated with modern conveniences. It is located in the old part of Assisi & was about a 13 min walk to the basilica di San Francesco. It has a great central location in the heart of the city. Antonio & his daughter made me feel like I was part of their family. What a delightful change from large hotels. The breakfast was very good and had plenty of choices. If I ever get back to Assisi, I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for being such lovely & caring hosts!

We are late reviewing this hotel but our memories are as clear as crystal. We stayed here for a week from December 28th 2021 so were in Assisi for New Year. The hotel is a little gem just a few minutes walk from the main square. We stayed in a room with a passageway linking two buildings together with our bathroom at the end of the passageway. This gave us more room as we stored our suitcases in the passageway. I think it was Room 52. The entire hotel was kept spotlessly clean and we had breakfast each morning in the basement dining room. The family who own and run the hotel were lovely to us and Antonio the father and his son in law were kindness itself. Antonio knows everything there is to know about Assisi and is very helpful if you need advice about where to go and what to see. He will do absolutely anything to make sure you enjoy your stay. Antonio very kindly gave us a lift to the station on our last morning when we left to get the train to Rome. This hotel has everything you need for a stay in Assisi. It is central, extremely clean and has an absolutely charming family atmosphere. We can't recommend it highly enough.
